28 year old girl. Brother is divorced. Girl has been in a few relationships and had her heart broken twice. She was going to get married to a guy, weren’t engaged, parents had met but then she called it off. Then she went to Thailand for a month or so by herself.

I also don't quite understand how they were going to get married and not engaged. I suppose you can have intent without being engaged yet.

I still don't know why her going to Thailand is the main question. So? She went on a trip. Good for her. She may have needed a break after all the craziness that makes no sense.
