Are you unbothered when you first date someone new?

The girl I am dating was like I’m just unbothered when I first dating someone new. Is that a red flag?

That might just be her personality, that she doesn't get nervous around new people. I see no reason to hold that against her. Two of the three first dates I ever went on, I knew them for weeks, if not longer before we went out so there was no reason to be nervous. Only once did I kind of take a random chance on someone I just met the night before and it went so fast, I had no time to build up some nerves, but it seemed like we broke the ice sufficiently meeting the night before. I don't think being nervous or "bothered" would help much, at the very least.

Why would that be a red flag? A first date is really just to get an initial feeling for the other person. A person might go through many first dates until they find someone dating properly, no point in wasting unnecessary energy on those.

I'm just gonna be myself, if that's a red flag then we're not meant for each other.

I would have asked her what she meant by that.

Because i NEVER expect a date to work out. I'm not negative, quite the opposite (if someone wants to believe that that's fine by me though👍). I'm just REALISTIC about the dating world. I approach everyone with a clean slate. But that doesn't mean i don't recognize warning signs. Point is i'd probably say "i'm unbothered" as well. I take what you give. If you give NOTHING and that is a constant eventually i'm going to conclude you're not interested and end it for you, for both of us.👍
