Are these self‑deprecating ugly guy jokes actually funny?

Im a really ugly guy and I try and cope through self deprecating humor,

I’m basically a walking career counselor for the Catholic Church. One look at this face and women start googling how to become a nun and best fabrics for habits. It’s a gift, really. I’m single-handedly keeping the monasteries funded.

Im so ugly that I look like the Toxic Avenger and Spawn had an offspring who was raised by Quasimodo

Careful if ny family finds out im talking to such a beautiful woman they might be upset that Im abandoning my plan to become a monk

That’s for you to decide, not us. My question to you would be: what do you get from it? I can’t imagine it boosts your self esteem, so is it about beating others to the punch or something? I don’t know when you got to the point in your life where laughing at yourself in an unfunny way feels like a solution to whatever you’re feeling, but it’s really not.

I understand it is a way to say, subtextually: 'Yes, I know I am ugly, but there is much more to me than my looks. I'm smart, good-humored, and I have a positive outlook on life.

In that case, yes, I think these work just fine.

But let me just say one think. Self deprecating is one thing. Flat out not respecting yourself is another. I don't care what someone looks like. Everyone is deserving of respect. And that starts with SELF respect.👍💯

Very few people are, "ugly". So he's probably NOT ugly. Keep in mind you're not going to be attractive 5o every woman. In fact if you're attractive to 10% of women, that's pretty good.
Being a virgin is irrelevant. Everyone is born one. I wouldn't go around celebrating that. Nor would i go around sharing it. That's nobody's business but yours (not even HERS). If she asked i would change the subject. If she kept pushing i'd lie about it. Because again, it's not her business.
And the guy has no friends RIGH T NOW. That can be changed with a little effort.
