No I wouldn't. Just because you aren't related doesn't mean there are not family dynamics at play still. You still function as a family even if not blood related.

I think it would make things very awkward for tbe other members of the family. That and I think there is enough stress trying to integrate as step brother or step sister with someone you aren't used to and didn't grow up with but now have to act like you did.
