He ghosted me after our second date—was it because I’m ugly?

I met a guy from the Internet, and we talked about a month. Then finally we met up in person. In the first date it was good, we had dinner and walking around in the park after that until midnight. And after that, everything is good, we still in touch and he invited me to 2nd date, but after dinner he suddenly told me he has to go after he touches his phone. I offered him to pay the dinner but he said it was on him. After that he ghosted me. Do you think that because he thinks i am ugly in person?

It’s hard to say. He could have been after another girl who responded to him so he went for her instead. Maybe he was already in a relationship. Maybe he had intentions of using you for sex but thought to himself I can’t do this. Maybe after the second date there just wasn’t the chemistry he thought there was. There’s a lot of possibilities.
