I don't date so if I'm interested in someone I already know them moderately well.

My standard transition is simple: 'So what do you do when you aren't <insert most flattering ideally mildly humorous characterisation of what they do that you already know about them>'.

Reverse negging I guess. Basic message is stop telling me about all the wonderful things I already know about you and tell me about even more wonderful things about you.

It works 100% of the time, in my experience, where by 'works' I mean it transitions the conversation into one in which I learn interesting things about them.

If you have the more modest goal of transition from soporific small talk into a conversation worth spending your time on then 'What's unimportant thing about you do you like the most' tends to work.

If your goal is instant pantie-removal... yeah, I've got nothing... sorry.

"You're the first, my last, my everything
And the answer to all my dreams
You're my sun, my moon, my guiding star
My kind of wonderful, that's what you are"

And if she happens to listen to Barry White, then I'm screwed, so I jump to the next profile.

I don't do those sites or date in general, but I can tell you what would impress me. Someone who read my profile and addressed my likes.

If you were to contact me and talk about what info I had on my dating profile then that would tell me you took your time and actually were interested enough to learn about me and not just looking for a piece of ass.

I just randomly send them any bad joke I can find...

no context, no nothing... but the bad joke

the response and follow up... that's just up to her, lol

"
Why does no one make jokes about Jonestown?

The punchlines too long. "

I usually sent the girl some message indicating that I had actually read her profile and didn't just skim through her photos.

Girl, are you a Country music fan? Then take Chris Young's advice and rock me harder than a downtown band !!!

[Alex-Snow]

Fortunately I have not had to use any of those sites yet
