work friend said that this guy coworker gave her his number and she’s married by the way she told me how it happened and said that I never texted him first and threw it somewhere in my backpack, that was months before this week she tells me you know he achually has my number has messaged me but it’s work related and I think this other guy coworker might have given it to him bc they close friends the other guy has work phone number tho ( I can’t see him doing that) anyways it’s little stuff like that she keeps adding on I don’t even know where the truth is anymore…. Than she says he keeps asking her to invite him somewhere she’s like nooo yet she blurted out one time that one day they will go hiking

This is the weirdest most codependent “friendship” on the planet. 6 months of straight nonsense and drama, you must both be hugely bored at work, it’s drama every single week and you love it. I wish you didn’t anonymize every time so I could block your ssa.
As for me, I wouldn't assume she's lying, but I also wouldn't take every detail at face value anymore. The fact that her story keeps changing and new pieces keep appearing would make me question what actually happened too.
The hiking comment would especially make me pause, because it doesn't really fit with the way she's describing herself as completely uninterested in him. But it still doesn't prove anything. She could be talking casually, exaggerating, forgetting details, or leaving things out.
Since she's married, I'd stay out of the middle of it. You don't need to figure out whether she's secretly interested in this guy or whether she's telling the whole truth. I'd just listen without getting involved and avoid repeating her story to other coworkers. If something is going on, it's ultimately her relationship to deal with.
Yea you think so? You saying I can get myself in trouble
Yes, just get yourself out of it
How do?
How soo?
THE BEST THING TO DO IS TO JUST STAY OUT OF IT! Not only is it nobody else's concern but your coworker's and the parties immediately involved, but you avoid any oncoming drama as well.
But she keeps bringing it up to me
You tell her it would be best to keep it among the immediately involved parties only, and to keep you out of it. And if need be, flat out say "I don't want to hear about it anymore."
Oh really she’s just my friend so she may take it the wrong way no?
You have to put your foot down.
Why would you care?
She’s my bestie
Is she trustworthy usually?
I only got to know her about 6 months at work
