Hello Everyone! I wanted dedicate this list to future college freshman who might be a little confused on what to bring/ not to bring to college. This is list from my perspective when I was a freshman in college. I wanted to keep this list as short an sweet as possible. If you want a more detailed list google has multiple websites that tells you the list of items to bring/ not to bring to college. Hopefully this list is helpful enjoy!
1. Not to Bring: Any High School Paraphernalia
You would possibly be made fun of if you bring any of this. It's time to start a new chapter in your life and make new memories.
2. Bring: A coffee maker
To avoid spending at least $5 everyday from my school coffeeshop, I decided to make my own iced coffee which taste exactly how my school makes it and its a lot cheaper.
3. Not to Bring: Your own Furniture
To be specific your own bed, dresser, etc. Your university or college will provide you with your own furniture. excluding: TV, Mirror
4. Bring: Decorations for your room
My freshman college dorm looked like a jail cell. So my roommate and I had to try our best to make it as comfortable and homie as possible.
5. Bring: Cleaning Products
Unfortunately college custodians do not clean the dorms that is the students responsibly. I have experience in the past where I had to room with nasty roommates. As a result I bleached down my room every weekend.
6. Not to bring: Iron/ Ironing board
You will not be ironing your clothes that much in college (I didn't at all). If I had any wrinkles in my clothes I would just throw it in the dryer with an dryer sheet to take the wrinkles out. However to avoid wrinkles in my clothes I would just hang them up . Also the ironing board takes of space in your closet. You are trying to create as much space for other important items.
7. Bring: Shower Caddy
Living in Freshman Dorms I did not have my own personal bathroom of course. So as a result I had to use the public shower in the hallway to take a shower. I usually use a lot of personal hygiene products to take a shower with and the shower caddy was really helpful when it came to hauling the products to and from the bathroom.
8. What Not To Bring: Too much clothes
I did this and this was my biggest mistake. Because a lot of the clothes I brought I did not wear at all.
9. Bring: Laundry bag/ basket
This made hauling my clothes back and forth to the laundry room a lot easier.
10. Not to Bring: Printer
These are literally everywhere on your campus. Save money and space on a printer.
I hope you guys enjoyed this list and its helpful for your first your first year. Let me know in the comments below anything I missed on what to bring/not to bring. For the future freshman best of luck for your first year and everyone else enjoy your summer and good luck going back to school.

And don’t bring pets. Some dorms allow a goldfish though. Also no lighting candles and bringing in alcohol. Smoking is also prohibited.
Some people are allowed to have a dog cat or pet bunny as a support animal of they are going through things mentally or psychologically. Some of the students on my campus has dogs because they are known to have seizures. So the pet rule varies depending on the case. Very true about the lighting candles. Instead I have a candle warmer. It melts the wax inside the jar for you and I love it. Alcohol you can bring as long as you are 21. My school knew that I had alcohol in my room so they gave me permission to have it in my room. Smoking is allowed of course as long as you do it outside. Thank you for reading 😊
OMG... Pets... When I lived in the dorm, there was a gal who had a pet rat that she let go wild in her room. It crawled through a heating vent that ran along the floor, and into my room. I think I had her come and get it. That was a long time ago.
Bring: Your IPad.
Don’t bring: Your Tamagotchi.
I didn't know tamagotchi was still popular lol
Bring: Tennis shoes.
Don’t bring: Crocs.
Crocs are actually still popular on my campus lol
I guess people didn’t read what to bring and what not to bring.
Lol😂🤷🏽♀️
What if you literally print so much?
I'm sorry I'm just now seeing this. Still don't bring a printer especially if your university allows unlimited printing. This can save you on buying paper and ink if you print a lot.
