I agree it can be.. I also think it's pushed so much it's pushed on people not suitable for college and also, when worked for fed gov. interviewed a lot of people that had college degree yet worked at Walmart or a similar job that don't require a degree and definitely don't cover their student loans
I've met people with college degrees and tons of college debt who were book smart but they had no street smarts or common sense. I've also met someone who didn't finish highschool who owned his own business and the business was very profitable. He had common sense and street smarts

There not they all got 100,000 debt or going to get more.
For stupid social jobs.
If you ain't one of them STEM field or a doctor your wasting your money and time.
Unless they took stem, people who went to college are more dumb. I notice they are much less creative and much more dogmatic, which means they really donโt have much to offer. Great at memorizing shit and following orders though
TO GOSSELINFAN: I say the same about these Masters and Bachelors Degrees. Places that never associated with them, NOWHERE OUT OF THE WOODWORK are requiring applicants to possess one. Hmmm interesting... Even in the priesthood, to get from Pastor to Monsignor you need this degree... to go from Monsignor to Bishop, you need THIS degree. THESE DEGREES DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN RELIGIOUS LIFE!!! But suddenly out of nowhere, the Vatican decided that they are so suddenly necessary to be able to advance through the different Priestly levels, rather than merit alone. It's bullshit.
there's an old saying... a person can be intelligent and dirt poor and a person can be dumb as a bag of rocks and be filthy rich. college kids dirt poor those who didn't go are both dirt poor or filthy rich. if i had to do over again i would never had gone to college and wasted all that time and money

i've seen college educated people say and do some of the dumbest things so no going to college doesn't make them smart in fact it makes them dumb because now they're in debt and still no idea how to make money in the real world
Here we go and on her way to the ring weighting at 150 pounds, she is the gag 24/7 champion BRAAAAAIIIINNNSSSS MUFFIIIINNNSSS 🤣🤣 And on the other corner weighting at 100 pounds she is the queen of graduates...
There's more than one user I've seen say, do this though... And my mom's sister get whole life acted like she was better than my mom and treated my mom like she was stupid cuz she went to college and my mom didn't... This wasn't about one person, cuz there's lots of people that do that both on here and IRL
Why do people assume.. Where did I come off angry? And then people wonder why I'm not into text for Communication.. People misconstrue or attach an attitude or emotion to your text you're not even feeling๐คท๐คฆ
I'm just saying in case your going to get angry, jusy don't be and your right about texting, a person ain't capable how the other is feeling without seeing his or her reactions but anyways have a nice weekend ๐
If you go to college for 10+ years and you're not some sort of doctor (or can at least begin some sort of a productive career) after more than a decade of higher education, then you've wasted your time, and more importantly, MY tax dollars. Non-graduating perpetual students are a gigantic financial burden on society.
The fact that millions of highly intelligent people don';t have a college degree, does not change the fact that on average, people will college degrees are far more intelligent than people without.
There are lots of exceptions. However, a large majority of the smarter; that is, higher IQ high school graduates attend college. People with below-average IQs seldom attend college. Therefore, it is not that college makes them smarter, it is that they would be smarter if they didn't attend college.
It took me three tries to get through college. I was smart before I graduated and I was still the same guy after I had my diploma hanging on the wall. The problem is, potential employers did not see it that way.
Cause it is pushed by colleges so they can keep making more money although very few jobs actually require college and all the useless crop they teach you

Because we put the value into getting a piece of paper instead of actually doing a good job at something
Then those people live miserably because they thought those pieces of paper would be what opened up their options and yet it usually doesnโt do a damn thing

Education is important but overall I agree with you

True. Good point.
There is formal education with the books and classes and there is informal education which comes from reality and experience.
You don't need to be in formal education to learn from books. Or more recently, the internet.
@zagor Very true

More dumbโฆ let me process that
@rcljr ๐๐๐คฃ
@rcljr back when I was growing up โdumberโ wasnโt a word
I would still rather get surgery from a doctor who went to medical school rather than someone who hasnโt.
It's insane that you think this is a good point. Hahaha wtf.
I think college is brain washing people to think they need it even though some jobs they donโt
You may be right there

Certainly some probably have that view, but certainly not all college grads feel that way.
Oh I know... I don't lump all as the same... My younger daughter went to and graduated college and she sure don't act that way

They mistake class privilege for intelligence.
There's definitely a correlation, but education doesn't value or elevate creative non conformists regardless of intelligence.
That's why you'll see a lot of genius entrepreneurs drop out. Though most fail anyways.
Because they tossed it off for 5 years while the rest of us grew up quickly and got a job
Right!!
The fact that millions of highly intelligent people don';t have a college degree, does not change the fact that on average, people will college degrees are far more intelligent than people without.
I would disagree there
You have that right.
There are lots of exceptions. However, a large majority of the smarter; that is, higher IQ high school graduates attend college. People with below-average IQs seldom attend college. Therefore, it is not that college makes them smarter, it is that they would be smarter if they didn't attend college.
You forgot Mark Zuckerberg, he also didn't graduate from college.

More educated people think they are more intelligent than less educated people. It's sometimes true, but not enough to always hold it.
