Why are less educated people so naive?

This isn't meant to be offensive but people who don't pass high school or go to college, tend to be more naive and believe everything the media shoves down they're throat. I know one drop out who voted for Obama because she thought he would truly stop all war (which still hasn't happened) and I know many other people who are naive in general. College educated people usually aren't like this. Why is this?

You kinda answered your own question in your question... But trust me college educated people can be just as naive. That's the whole issue with naivety. You don't know your being naive until your faced with more information. I have a degree in biology and can explain nutrition, excercise, aging, child birth, genetics you name it. If it has something to do with the human body or life in general I can explain it better than a large portion of people my age. BUT I know that when it comes down to biology I barely know anything and my lab mentors and my boss show me that on a daily basis. You think you know math until you meet calculus. You think you understand physics until you hit quantum. You think you understand government until you're sitting down in the midst of it all experiencing it first hand. It's not uneducated people who don't get it it's everyone. Most people have never worked in a senate or as a judge or in an executive government position but still think they know everything that's necessary to do the job well. Naivety is sneaky like that. You always think you know enough even when you may know nothing at all. its not a matter of being unintelligent or uneducated if you've never been properly educated about the government you will never know how inaccurate your assumptions may be. I'm disgusted by some of the ridiculous plans ideas and reasonings I hear coming out of the mouths of college grads sometimes but they simply don't know what they don't know.

Even as a college graduate, I've noticed it the polar opposite here.

It seems like college educated people, ESPECIALLY the highly educated ones (let's say pHD), tend to soak up everything in the media and spit out random statistics they read on a Google search. If anything, less educated people tend to be more skeptical (I'm a rare educated skeptic) and admit many of the things we're fed in the media is garbage.

because they don't know about theories and ideology for politics or other stuff. If you have zero knowledge about something how can you have opinion about it? people who has zero knowledge about something is fragile to persuasion such as media. In my opinion, college or drop out people can be as naive if they don't even care or develop intellectually.

Stupid people tend to be naive. Not going to college does not make you stupid. Philip Green and Laurence Graff left school at 15 and are billionaires.

It's not even just less educated people... met a guy at a place I work, veteran programmer working a job I know pays probably 80k a year... and he was telling me about a youtube video he found that the earth is actually flat.

And he was acting serious and considering it.

They are generally just naive about different things. Most people conform thier opinions to the prevailing culture they find themselves in. Your typical college grad is deliberately stupid in many ways.

I used to have a friend who dropped out of high school and he is a huge idiot. His hand writing is so shit because he has barely written anything since 1st/2nd year.
