Yes! I am already stating to apply to college but I need help. Do you have any tips or advice for me that you wish you knew/had when you were applying to college?

Do not write about Covid. Everyone had some impactful experience with it and I guarantee you that a ton of other kids all over the country are going to write about how difficult the pandemic was and how it taught them about perseverance or something. Admissions officers will get sick of reading about that and you will not stand out. Write about something more unique to you, especially something non-academic that shows people you’re more than a high school student and you’ve had important experiences outside the classroom. Colleges use a more holistic admissions process now so it’s not enough to have strong test scores and transcripts- they want to know about your personal development and what would make you a great member of their community outside the classroom.

Google what to write in an essay and buy books with sample cover letters and resumes and read the resumes of all the professors at your school online to get an idea of what to say

They wanna hear from you, talk about yourself and the things you are passionate about lol. Academia-wise tho, like if you wanted to become a doctor, talk about how much you enjoy studying medical textbooks.
