2 crazy things I built gas stations for 25 years do maintenance service repair and build from the ground up.
My boss calls me up tells me one of our guys is having a problem fixing a gas pump. go over and help him. I get there the pumps are taken apart what I mean by that is everything is open I asked him what was going on , I asked him if the power was off on the pump , he said yes , gas pumps have a emergency shut-off valve in case they get yanked off the island it will shut off the gas flow if the seal is broken. I undid the coupler which allows gas to leak out onto the ground in the pump hole. I asked the guy again did you turn off the power yes I've been here for two hours the power is off great cool. I undo the wire n u t s off of the wires, I get them situated so I can lean the pump back to pull the wires out of the conduit. as I reach down I touch a wire it knocks me on my ass. it Spark and now there's a fire the guy I'm with takes off running I stand up take off my coat and put out the fire
It's crazy time number two same thing installing new double-walled fiberglass gas line I'm in the backhoe digging the trench exposing all the old pipes. I got a guy in the trench he's cutting the old galvanized gas lines to remove them. He can't get the pipe cutter in there so he gets a bright idea and is going to use a hacksaw. I take a bucket load of dirt and go to dump it , and I look over and I see him running down the trench on fire I jump off the backhoe he is running towards the end of the trench I'm yelling at him to roll on the ground I get to him before he gets out of the trench, jump on top of him I get to him down he's screaming screaming bloody murder get off me I'm on fire I said shut up and relax as I'm squishing the s*** out of his head trying to put the fire out you're not on fire no more. He's yelling get the f*** off me and now he's pissed off at me because I body slammed him into the ground put the fire out that was on him and tell him to take his clothes off they were still smoldering so he's stripping down in the middle of the parking lot and still yelling at me that was way super super crazy

There was a person who was hitting themselves and biting themselves, who was also hitting and biting other people if they tried to stop them. This same person pooped in their pants, then stuck their hand down their pants, and took the poop and wiped it on the walls.

There's maybe been stuff that was weirder to me or other people that work there, because we are used to and trained for behaviors like the above, but might not seem as weird or "fucked up" to your average person. It's a bit of a nuanced perspective.

I worked as a dishwasher at a small restaurant. They had recently hired a guy who didn’t speak English, but he was easy enough to communicate with.


One day he leaned over the sink next to me and held something over it. Didn’t think much of it, until I noticed he had turned to me and smiled.


That’s when I noticed he was holding a red towel.


... there were no red towels...


He had been cutting vegetables and wound up cutting his thumb to the bone.


I called for the owner just as the poor guy passed out from blood loss. Thankfully he hit the wall and slid down somewhat gently.


The owner managed to get him to wake up while I stopped the bleeding.


We were both given pancakes and tequila after. Lol

So many things 🙃 A car crashed through the front door one time, I wasn't there for that but I saw the aftermath 😭. It was a diabetic lady and I guess she passed out at the wheel. No one got hurt though luckily. My ex came up to the restaurant one time acting crazy so they called the cops to chase him away. Oh and the other night some lady couldn't find her wallet and claimed one of us stole it... 😑 And she called the police and filed a police report. Walked through the whole building with them lmfao.

I was working at a TGI Fridays. There were two people with some condition - Down Syndrome perhaps, I'm not good a knowing these things. Anyway, they were both about 30 and both had a condition of some sort.
They were drinking at the bar as you do.
The manager spotted them, thought they were drunk and threw the out!!! He just could not tell the difference between their condition and drunken behaviour. They, rightly protested and pretty soon the situation got pretty loud and pretty explosive.
The worst bit was you could tell the moment that the manager recognized he had misjudged things, but by that time there were so many eyes on him he really had to commit to chucking them out.
Poor people.

When I was the victim of racial discrimination triggered by my then boss being fat and her man blatantly drooling over me and her being a jealous hag. I was ganged up on and refused even an apology.

Having a gay Chinese man freak out on some white lady for telling him to show his swim pass to me the lifeguard. He then proceeded to tell us about his love of white people because his boyfriend was white. His unresolved issues with his mother all in between laps at during lane swim.

A man puching a woman underwater because he felt she wasn't swimming fast enough for the lane.

At my office job, some guy was watching violent porn. When he was fired, he stabbed himself at work and left blood everywhere.

At my call centre job there was a small earthquake.

I have way more stories for sure.

Not sure why this is under sexuality. I used to find the colleague I shared the office with sleeping under the desk regularly. He also often didn’t show up. Our boss knew but never fired him because he was in love with him. My colleague was straight and hated our boss for that, said he was always trying to touch his ass, but I wouldn’t quit that job because he needed money for his coke. He used to do a lot of coke. Oh and also we had another colleague on the team and my coke-colleague and the boss hated her and they mobbed her so bad that she had a burn out. I quit that job shortly after and have no idea how that circus went on. Writing it down now makes me realize how fucked up that was.

i got a few from my old job, lost the industry due to covid. product demonstrations in stores.

in one store had to be evacuated due to a gas leak which turned out to be propane tanks in the rack outside venting excess gas.

one store was temporarily closed to customers due to a wreck down the road knocking the power out.

had to leave early from another store due to a simular power outtage.

lost my next to last boss due to him dieing while walking in a store to come see me. he had a heart attack from a blood clot piece breaking off from shoulder surgery he had recently come back from and catching in a cholesterol clog.

could think of a few more along these lines.

I was asked to set up a concept design on very short notice.
I hated the idea, put in minimal effort and delivered in 2 days what normally would take a week or so.
The weird detail: customer loved it on the spot and one other new customer meanwhile also placed an order.

I plan to have a lot of own downtime onwards :D

I had a mercurial boss in the mid 90s. I reported to her, leading a team of software developers who reported to me. We kicked ass and helped drive her career high. I took two weeks off. While gone, she demoted me, making one of my team members my new boss, and she informed me of all of this in a voicemail, while I was on vacation. I still have no clue why.

I think the most fucked up thing was being yelled at and treated like shit daily then fired because of mean girl false rumors then being denied unemployment. So much shitty happening at one time.


Another time, when I was in my early 20s, I walked around the office for half the day with the back of my skirt tucked into my undies until a coworker finally said something. 🤣

I just remembered a better one.. I used to install computer systems. We were doing an install in a department store and it was my second day on the job. My foreman told me to run a cable from one place to the mainframe in the back room. He told me to get up in the suspended ceiling and crawl along the metal frame until I reached th back room. I asked him if he was sure and he said yes.. It turns out they were having sport with the new guy. I got about a third of the way but the frame kept moving and then I fell through the ceiling. The foreman comes running over and asks me if I was okay and I just had a cut under my eye.
So a few days later we fly to Florida to do another department store. While we were driving to our motel a Sherriff's car pulls up behind us with lights and siren. We pull over and the cops yell at us with guns drawn. They tell us to got out of the car. We had to show ID and told the cops we were just driving to out motel. The cops told us that two guys in a blue LeMans which happened to be what we were driving, robbed a 7-11 store and one of the cols looked right at me and shone his flashlight in my face and said, :"And one of them had a cut under his eye."

They brought a patient from the ER room to the CT scan... and the patient was super cold, he was in fact dead, and they realized it when they put him on the table.

The rest either ran before the cops came or was not the ones that was fighting.

@Coulis l will say it was one of the more gruesome things I have seen. Seeing it in person is way different than observing it on CCTV or security footage. I have seen people get ripped apart at high speeds, blow up, decapitated, shot, etc. Honestly doesn't get to me that much anymore.

I will be real and say it was somewhat shocking because of seeing it happen in person, but I shrugged it off and went on with the day as the required personnel did their job cleaning things up.
