Oh, yes. The big name spa at which I worked out-and-out lied about our pay from the get go. Then later, when one of the nail techs got MORE than she was supposed to, the spa wouldn't let her keep the overage as compensation for her underpayment, and fired her for keeping that as compensation for the double-talk about pay in the first place.
One of my tasks when I was at a telecom company was doing the data entry for any payroll "exceptions", eg, putting in sick codes, PTO codes (paid time off), etc. to keep this sort of problem to a minimum, and I reported to a Payroll Manager at the HQ. As it happened, there were two new hires who were NOT getting paid. I found that these two employees- hired within a particular timeframe- and ONLY these two- had a particular letter arrangement in their names. I asked my PayrollManager if that could be the problem. She said that if was anyone other than me, she wouldn't have believed it, but knowing that I was always very thorough, she had the programmers check this out. Well, it turned out that there WAS some screwy, microscopic little glitch in the software that bounced anyone- hired within a certain timeframe- AND who had this particular letter combination in their nam- out of the payroll loop. She couldn't believe it!
Programmers had patched the program for some other reason and messed up this module in the process. Don' 'cha just looooove "progress"?
Yeah technology sooo great
* oops - - in their namE - - -
At my current job it happened twice when i started, i called the economy HQ and their excuse was : you are new, our info and payments depending on which bank you have blah blah blah. Thankfuly i am a member with a union so ot took less than a day and i got the rest of the money. The second time they forgot almost half of my monthly salary, one call and it took them a whole week, i was mad AF. Now! I have a friend who is a lawyer and the next time they do a "mistake" my friend will make sire the company pays a penalty fee (3,8%) of my salary, it's a little amount but there hasn't been any mistakes dor the last 3 years 🤷♂️
Well that's good it's not happening anymore
Yes it happened more the once at my present job. Good thing I keep meticulous records. It took a couple of days but I got all my pay. Well except for this last fiasco in June. I think I may have to get the labor board involved after all.
I definitely would
Yes. They forgot to pay me my vacay pay which they promised. But they were gonna add it to my paycheck. I said he'll no, cause I'm not paying mortal than needed. Sorry sir.
Right! She was going to tell me it was going to take a while to straighten out.. hmm funny tho, when said if wasn't there by Friday, won't see me at work Monday, it was there.

Yes, I worked for a company that installed computers in department stores and banks. A lot of times we worked at night. The store managers would lock us in the stores at night. If you worked nights you were supposed to get a night differential. One of the owners was always trying to shortchange me. Hs would "forget" to give me the night differential. He hoped I would not notice..
After he did it to me three or four times I told him if it happened again I was quitting. So the very next week he does it again so I go into his office and told him I quit. He was all apologies and asked me to stay. I was sick of the job by then anyway so I told him to forget it.
Don't blame you!! You don't fuck with people's pay!!
Pay the sasquatch feet or she will hit you all with her snow shovel 🤣🤣
Well usually i get paid on time every month miss brains muffins since i work in the government but when sometimes when i work in my other profession in my free time, i get paid directly, fix the machine and get paid CASH 😎💵 but if the customer wasn't able to pay directly, i can wait for a day or 2...
If i had a housewife, she will be free from financial stress cause she won't be working but STILL HAVE TO PAY ME, instead of money she will pay me MUFFINS and delicious meals and ofc 1,000,000 kisses, 999,000 of the kisses must be french kisses and ofc i accept other kinky services, no problem! If she makes the king fullfilled and happy than i'll be her driver for 1 week 😂😂 🚕💨
🤣🤣🤣
Yep , you know what over the years I've been underpaid and overpaid , in fairness when legitimately underpaid , they always fixed it. The problem is , you tend to be underpaid in life when you are struggling for every $1 .
Overpaid , and you say " Hmmm nice.. Yo sure this ones correct " ?
Ha funny you say overpaid, cuz now think there's $20 extra, but without pay stub, not sure, that could be overtime.. They corrected the pay but didn't get corrected pussy stub yet
*pay omg🤦 lololol
Yeah I’ve had a few employers jerk me around on my paycheck, doesn’t go over well.
Had one guy try stalling on reimbursing me for a bunch of expenses I put on my card while he was away, parked my ass at his desk and said I wasn’t leaving without the money in my hand. Got it 👍
Yep, gotta be that way!!! Happened another time when worked for government agency and they Shorted me $3-400.. Tried telling me had to wait till next pay period.. "Uhh nope, you got the 30 minutes it'll take me to drive to the office to collect my check to cut that check" and yeah, I got it👍👍
Years ago i had a job that did i raised hell i worked 16 hours for 3 days straight i was expecting the money i raised hell and emailed the whole chain from top manager to all of HR and i got it fixed finally then they did it again months later and i quit. One thing you don't do is play with my money but thar was the only job that did that and i still receive settlement checks from them always being sued lol
I agree💯I can play but not when it comes to my pay.. It happens again, I'm gone.. They did have it there this morning, cuz I straight up told her wouldn't be here Monday if it wasn't
Wow. I'm glad they fixed it, bbb. It's a good thing they did. I hate to think of the shit storm consequences of fucking with a fierce, brainygirl who is in the right. LOL
Fortunately, that never happened to me.
That's good.. Happened once before when worked for a government agency... They Shorted me like$3-400, tried telling me I'd have to wait till next pay period, again F that. They cut me check for the rest same day
Oh 100% especially around overtime worked, it's made me very cynical when it comes to making sure I've been paid the right amount... I mean technically they over paid me by 9 hours last month and I kept my mouth shut but hey it's the fact I don't play by my own rules that makes me so fascinating lol
Never happens with self-employment... my only risk is the market dropping between my gold (generally gold, silver is too bulky to post and I've had very little in the PGM range) leaving me and meeting is firey end in the refinery furnace... last few times it's gone up in that time frame
A few times. It's one of the many reasons I choose to go self employed.. I never have a problem paying me what I'm owed any longer. :D
👍 lolol
No, never. Maybe overpaid me sometimes during the pandemic, we were there but did not do much, due to the closures. I felt guilty getting full pay.
That's something a lot of p wouldn't say.. Seems like people I work with want more, to work less🙄
The state wanted us there, and said we were 'essential' since people have to drive and keep their registration/ drivers license current. I read a number of books, put together puzzles etc. We had quizzes about dept. policy, procedure etc. also. The manager even organized a car wash one day.
Yeah, and I don't let them try shit.
Don't fuck with my money.
👿👿
Right!!
Yeah. It took a ton of emails and calls to get the money back. I lost a ton of overtime and holiday pay during my transition to sup.
That's fucked up... I got mine cuz think they knew meant it bout not being here if didn't get paid
No I've ad only good experiences on that front so far ^^
Glad to hear that😊
Yes, indicon inc illegally withheld all my overtime pay.
Did you ever get it?
No, but I took the software I wrote (on my own time ) that we used to do the project with me. A couple weeks later they closed the local offices as they had lost the contract worth tens of millions a year because I left.
Once when I worked for Tower Records they delayed my pay by a few days because the company changed payroll services. For me, it was no big deal. For others it was a big deal.
This has never happened to me but you did the right thing
Right! But damn, now gotta work Monday lol the one chick I help a lot at work was more nervous than me, cuz told her not only wouldn't I be there Monday, I'd be spending Monday looking for new job and she don't want me to leave... I should fuck with her and tell her didn't get it😂 get her back for always creeping up on me and startling me lolol or the day she said my name, when looked over, she pulled her mask down and a weenie popped out of her mouth🤣🤣🤣 it was a Vienna sausage.. But so unexpected, I laughed till I cried🤣
Omg 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wait but then she told me when we took drive for lunch that she afraid to give BJ's... And how to do them... "Like how you had that other weenie in your mouth"🤣🤣🤣
Hahahahaha
Should have offered to demonstrate on her sausage 🤣. (Or a banana 😊.)
🤣🤣🤣
listverse.com/.../ You go right on ahead and trust the government… I will trust my body to build immunity when I catch the Wu Flu that has a 99% recovery rate.
Ummm did you reply on wrong question? This was about paychecks from your employer
It's all good lol
On a few occasions.
When I first hired on, the old woman who ran the payroll department had been there since the Truman administration (I'm not kidding). Customer service, never mind professional courtesy, was not a hallmark. Going to the payroll department was much like taking a trip to the dentist: not something to look forward to.
I was happy when the old gal finally retired. Payroll errors also sharply declined after she left.
Two guys had done it to me before.
Both are dead now.
:D
Which wasn't my own doing of course; one was cancer, the other had some heart attack or so.
But life sometimes gives us justice, heh heh.
I'm sure they have. I've always made my money through the stock market and such though, so I never worried too much about the dollar amount of my paycheck. I was working for health care benefits and such.
Not me. check that shit. I'm not sure about my co workers because they damn sure short the company on work...
Right! There's a few of those here too
When I worked for a super market my boss deducted 10 pounds because he thought i was bunking off to watch the football where i had a bad chest infection.
Once on a 185k commission for my closing a 1.85m deal. Prick…
Did you get it eventually
Nope
That sucks
Yep and late having issues right now actually lol time to move on I reckon
I'd say
Is tescos hiring
Yes I have had delayed salary payments and that when you start looking for another job who actually fulfill their most important task.
Oh yeah that's happened multiple times with me. It wasn't just one company, it was the last 4 companies.
@exitseven I used to calculate my pay down to the penny. Now I get extra pay sometimes. I got a great boss but he's a real slave driver. Lol
@exitseven hahaha. Gee thanks 🤣
Can’t remember being shorted on regular amounts. Just overtime amounts.
That is why I kept notebook on who the boss was and the job that I did.
Mich easier to prove that way!
More than once. Computer errors you know lol. But why isn't it ever in our favour
Right!! Well actually they say 70 people's checks got messed up, some underpaid, some over.. Of course I fell in the underpaid
Funny you ask that, my stepsister shorted me by an hour yesterday
You work for your step sister?
yea and just a little secret that the north American government knows if ya gotta pay taxes which are illegal your already bein shorted on pay by default
No I have a Saturday job and typically get over paid
What you dont get a pay stub with your check. WTF is that shit. Why can't tell give your paystub with your check. I thought the law said they have to be together
Get an email-electronic pay stub and get direct deposit
What is direct deposit
Sorry im sounding old here
No. When I worked at my construction job l turned in my own time card and at the repair shop wrote down the automobile when I finished
yeah that's what the department and labor is training is for to report lowlife scumbags like that
shorted on pay and vacation...
Aww see that's messed up
@Brainsbeforebeauty thats why I quit.. :)
Don't blame yah
Speaking of pay…. If you’re a book creator of some sort, who pays you?
Great story, always stand up for what's right...
Yes!
That sucks
Yes, I never received it either.
Yep.
My clients have.
No never
yeah its happened
