I took a CRT in post secondary as I thought it would be an easy way to boost my GPA and I had mixed opinions on that class. Do I believe it should be taught in lower grades. Absolutely NOT! In order for this theory to really be taught correctly you have to have a vast amount to insight in a lot of different cultures, sub groups and life styles and schools do not teach that stuff at all. We are taught very little about different cultures and groups in school and you expect these same children to come up with critical perspective from learning nothing or very structured details. 'The White Man' was a very common term in that class and I hated it because there was no real lining behind it as it was just a go to for every problem. Many European countries hate one another over the course of history and that was never brought up and many African/ Caribbean countries hate each other and that was never brought up either. The entire focus of CRT is White vs Black and that is all that it amounts to. Unfortunately many people especially in North American see race in 2 colours. CRT is just a theory and there is nothing wrong with focusing on race as a theory if all the details and facts are explored but we just aren't equipment enough in history to be using it as a entire course as it causes more divide and guilt than understanding and acceptance.
I would rather creedance clear water revival be taught than the idiotic, racist, hateful critical race theory be taught.
yeah me too!!!
And why do you think teaching CRT is a good idea? If you're going to do that you might as well have a class on Neo Nazism, a class emulating Mao Tsungs ideology that saw to the death of millions of "inferior" minorities, a class for wannabe Taliban and ISIS members.
CRT after all is racist themed ideology in many ways. So if we were to promote one racist idea we might as well promote them all don't you think? Only fair. People bitch about equality.
If your friend's idea is to try and get kids to not be racist you want to know a more intelligent idea? A more useful idea? Have classes of mixed ethnic groups. Have days when kids with say Mexican or Arabic ancestry can dress up or bring authentic food/items and teach their peers about their culture, etc.
Many times racism is solely due to ignorance. And promoting things like CRT will just keep people ignorant and promote racist ideas.
Totally agree ccr great band

I dont think teaching a masters level law course devised in the 70's to K-12 students would be particularly productive, no. Which is probably why its not being taught now. People only think it is because the far right fake news needed another caravan for 2022 so they funded people pretending to get mad about it in public to normalize getting mad over this nonissue without getting embarrassed for speaking nonsense. Now people can shamelessly blurt out literally any grievance about race and people will just assume they are talking about CRT (since no one knows what that is).
CRT is a bad idea and should not be taught in schools or anywhere else. CCR, on the other hand, should be taught everywhere! Green River and Looking Out My Backdoor can make a bad day good and a good day great!
CRT - No. CCR - yes. Who’ll Stop the Rain is a question we all want answers to and I can’t think of any better place to get the answer to that question than school.
YES. The whole thing about the riots in the south should be taught CORRECTLY. And not redacted by the publishers of textbooks (based out of Tex-ASS). How certain wars were lost (not won to make us look great) and inventions by people of color, and other aspects should not be erased because the population which is now dwindling should not show they are this group of individuals who wear a red hat, carry a red flag, and a person in their wallet who they kiss.. should not dictate the correct way
HISTORY was MADE and putting RELIGION IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS (you want fucking prayer - go to a private catholic school where they say the Chosen One was in the White House - and he will ride on a White Horse on Judgement Day along with His Apostles and with fire and brimstone will bring all this followers to the PROMISE LAND"...
You said nothing of CCR
@WowwGirl CCR is being covered up.. if you read it..
As an educator, I think we should he focusing more on teaching kids life and survival skills. That we send this kids off into the world with no education on taxes and credit and the real shit they need to know really bothers me. I do think we need to stop watering down and sugarcoating history tho.
I just listened to that song, "bad moon rising". I think if people keep pushing CRT then CCR could happen.
"There's The Bathroom On The Right"
No, what should be taught are aspects of different races cultures and the history of their ancestors origins to stop them being brainwashed and accepting what their parents or someone else said that causes racist behaviour.
Well educated kids have been open armed with me, it really tells you just how much of a difference it makes.
Lol I forgot this is predominantly an American populated website, today's Americans wouldn't like to know they came from Europe and Africa. Explaining to children that there was an invasion and genocide of American Indians and eventual extinction is quite a shock to the system. Shooting an Indian in the wild wild west who simply disagreed with them would surely have a child burst out crying.
I fully support the teaching of CCR, and other rock bands. Kids need to learn about proper music, not Justin Bieber or DFS (or whatever they're called from N Korea).
Simples...
No.
Both are Communist indoctrination that is packed with lies and distortions.
I remember when CRT meant Cathode Ray Tube, I would not mind if they taught that in school.
CRT should be illegal.
Sure.
I'm not really huge on CCR, but they have some good ones. Down On The Corner is my personal favorite.
Take every liberal give it a gun and one bullet and them in the desert lets see who eats who.
That's NOT what school is for!!! It's there to TEACH, NOT indoctrinate!!!
I’m all for CCR in the schools so kids will know that “therrrrre’s a bathroom on the right” 😀
I have no idea what CCR is, but I do know that CRT is a disgusting abomination, and if there were a devil it's the very sort of thing he would dream up in order to enfeeble and enslave humanity.
CCR should be taught. Along with ELP, REO, GNR, STP, and a few others.
EWG, ELO, SMB & GFR
It’s a Marxist theory for leftist college kids it has no business being taught to children
These ideas can and probably should be taught, but from a completely neutral perspective, not from applied principles- which is basically indoctrination.
CCR and classic rock should be taught in school 🤘
One can never go wrong with classic rock
I’m for it. Either way, kids will fall asleep in classrooms across America no matter what.
Nothing about race should be taught
Kuds need ABC, 123, muplication, algebra, history, English and NONTHING ELSE! I am damn glad i not in a Blue state. They are crazy with all crap
anyone teaching critical race theory is evil. there is no acceptable time to ever teach this
CCR definitely because I’m a Fortunate Son
what do cathode ray tubes have to do with Creedence clearwater revival?
Nope, neither should be taught, only instrumental knowledge should be taught.
Racism should not be thought in schools.
No. NEITHER should be taught.
I think your friend is a moron
What is critical race theory exactly?
It is the concept of dividing people by race and treating them different based on perceived oppression.
In practise it is teaching kids that america is evil and that all the white kids have a systemic guilt towards black people and thus to compensate that it is fair to discriminate against white people to put black people on an equal footing in their perception.
Its a wrong theory and completely ignores real social dynamics, but its leading in positions which only hire for one specific race.
A more common term they use is Equity (Ensuring of equal outcomes, in this case by artificial means).
Here is an example from what coca cola employers were forced to learn.
Nope neither should
I agree with you.
load of garbage
sure, why not?
Never heard of it.
Hell no it is racist
no..
Nope!!!
No, they shouldn't
