It puts one in the 89th percentile, meaning only 11% of the population is richer than $100k a year.

I make just over 150k annually. Most people where I'm from do not see that as rich, but also definitely don't see that as poor..
Most people earning over €40,000-€50,000 per year in Ireland are not poor, but not rich either.
I have to convert into US dollars. Converting what I think falls in that bracket you speak of, I came up with 72K a year.
100.000 euros in the Netherlands means you are rich and have a good job. Average here middleclass is 30.000 a year
Not only are the people high, so are their wages...

It depends where in the country you live. Housing, taxes and utilities can vary from state to state.
Nah. I don't/can't agree with you on that. That's pretty wealthy.
And I also specified this would be the salary for an individual person, not household income.
I knew a guy who did IT living in Manhattan and he made $120,000 a year and acted like it was no big deal just because his boss made like, $2 million a year. Like sh*t, I don't make a f*ckin' hundred grand a year. Let alone at age 19 like another user on here claimed.
You seem to be getting Upper Middle Class and Upper Class (rich/the 1%) mixed up. Upper Middle Class is like $80,000 a year and up for a single individual salary. Most doctors and lawyers only make $70,000 to $95,000 a year. That's Upper Middle Class. No "Middle Class" person is earning six freakin' figures!
And to technically be Upper Class, the 1%, you only need to make $450,000 a year. It's not "a millionaire," but it's still the one percent. Earning $100k a year actually makes one part of the 10%, meaning 90% of Americans earn less than that. That's why it's "Upper Middle Class" and not Upper Class.
Rich people always claim they aren't making much money, though. Like AOC wearing a "tax the rich" dress, but then clarifying she only meant "billionaires" with a B. I grew up dirt poor and most people in Philadelphia can't even afford to own a car (like 20% of people own them).
€40,000-50,000 euro a year. Now that there's COVID, taxes are higher
Between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00 depending on the region.
Depends why you live.
$100,000 is living well in most areas.
But in areas like NYC and California it is nothing.
100k is what I make a year but thats not really rich in my area
Somewhere between 40,000 to 60,000 dollars
