Oh. Then it sounds like he's just being spiteful or he wanted to bang you and your leaving shows that it was largely unrequited - which is the sort of thing spiteful people thrive on. It's the boss equivalent of a guy calling you a slut after you refuse to sleep with him. Sounds like a toxic boss and in future interviews I would maybe point that out so any who might call him aren't put off by the passive aggressive nonsense he'll likely engage in to keep you from being employed elsewhere.

Probably he wants to leave but can't.
Sorry? Who wants to leave, my boss? Or the person that resigned? Why would a boss make it difficult, for what purpose?

That's the obvious part. The question is why he didn't want you to leave. I can't think of anything without knowing him.
