My senior year of high school I got a cell phone and we were not allowed to have them out of our backpacks in class. I can’t remember if it was taken away but the threat was there.
In my case, actually putting your phones away was obligatory, when I was in lower secondary school. But in high school it was normal and nobody ever taken it from me.
The only "device" I had was a pocket protector, filled with a couple pens. Nope, she didn't take that away either. In 6th or 7th grade, I did have a book I was reading, and sometimes, when bored in class, I would read the book, keeping it down by my lap so the teacher (a nun) wouldn't see it. But she did one day... and took that away. I had to stay after class, write "I will not read in class" 20 times on the blackboard, then erase it and wash the blackboard down and clean all the chalk dust out of the erasers. The punishment didn't fit the crime, but things were different back then.
I hate chalk but i love weiting the same thing 😍 I did it for fun one summer. I wrote it on a whole 70 page notebook of the school handbook and my mom thought i was nuts. But i legit saw it as fun
When i was in school, cell phones were so large they had to be in the car, or they were the size of a brick.. Honestly before 2001 i never had a cell phone.
We had pagers. Lol. And I had a note that said I needed to have one. Because I worked at my grandmothers restaurant. And just in case one of my siblings needed me.

Damn even in college they made us put our phones away
I'm in college now, and we don't have to put them away.
I had the minimum cheap flip phone and zero talent as texting. So no.
Oh i see
Nope. Notice that I'm older. We didn't have phones when I was in school.
My bad. Well did any of your devices get taken? I don't know if you had pagers or what

When I was in school, kids/teens didn't have cell phones, and smart phones weren't a thing yet. I brought my gameboy to school though, no one cared.
Wow i never realized you were 34. I don't know why i assumed we were same age
I'm actually 35
My school wasn’t strict with phones. For one class we would get extra credit if we turned it in to the teacher.
Lmao turned it in for how long?
Just for that class of course.
We had pagers. Lol. And I had a note that said I needed to have one. Because I worked at my grandmothers restaurant. And just in case one of my siblings needed me.
Oooo well thats nice
Yeah.
Didn't have internet, personal phones, or any electronic devices when I was in school. Only simple personal calculators when I was in college.
I always left my phone in my locker. Never had this problem.
Thats good of you :)
never :) they did they away my drawing though, tore it apart, made me sad
Man we wouldve fought
haha well I didn't pay attention at all, it was derserved
Not too many had phones. She took away my mp3 & I wasn't even using it. She was a interesting person.
Ong i do remember a lot of people using their mp3
Maybe once lol. But at my school if you got your phone taken you would get it back at the end of class.
Oh wow nahh a whole month for us
Wow. That's crazy. Y'all had some Nazis up in there.
Case in point. @Jamie05rhs is 4 years younger and his experience was totally different. Lol
I don't know if i just never look at ages on here but i thought both of y'all were in late 20s. 🤣
@DizzyDesii whyyy thank you I do still get carded. Even with my 9 year old in tow. *blushes*
@loves2learn True!
@DizzyDesii You thought I was late 20s? Wow. Well, I'll take that as a compliment! Thanks! 😊
They never did. Mostly because I didn't use it. But when I did, I was discreet.
I can't be discreet. Im a dead giveaway 😂 Its good i left mine at home
I never had a phone to take away when I was in school.
Oh i see
Yes but i broke back into her class with the janitors key and took everyone’s phones back and the juices she kept in that mini fridge by her desk
Oh wow
No, Because Cell Phones were not yet popular until I was already in college. By then, I was mature enough to know not to talk or text during class.
Thats good
No. I bought my first phone years after I left school.
Oh i see
the mobile phone has not been invented when I was at school
*lool*
No because when we were in middle school, we didn’t have cell phones or iPhones.
