Should I accept this job or look for something with more of a work-life balance?

I’m suppose to start work Monday. Though twice now I made unnecessary trips where they told me to come in to fill out paper work and someone was suppose to call me to tell me it wasn’t ready yet. Before being hired I told them I make plans on Sunday. They tell me they will call me to come in Friday to do paperwork. Now they want me to come in Sunday to do paperwork. I haven’t even started and I already feel like I can’t make plans and have a life outside of work. I don’t if I should them a chance and if I need to take days off. Or tell them this job just isn’t for me and that I’m looking for something with more of a work/life balance.

I was offered a job a few years ago. It paid quite a bit more than what I was making but it was clear that I would have to work extra hours for no more pay. I agreed to take the job and quit my old job. At the last minute I changed my mind, I went and got my old job back and they were happy to have me. Then I called them to say that I reconsidered.
You only live once and I have many EMT friends that have pulled dying people out of car wrecks and not one single person ever said they wished they spent more time at work.

Tell them to send you the paperwork. No need to drive anywhere for stuff like that.

I guess he depends on how much it pays versus the agravation. Also, maybe things will settle down once you get started.
