Should I be looking for another job at this point?

I applied for Toco bell a a little over two weeks ago. Went to the interview, and got the job. Just have to wait on hr to do their part then I can start. Thing is, my manager said it could be a week or two before I start. I just though okay cool. It's been a little over two weeks now. I texted my manager when two weeks hit because he told me to if i hadn't heard anything. A couple days later and nothing. I talked to my case manager and she said to just call him, and to explain. He said he was sick in the hospital, and he just got out. He told me to text him my full name and he'll see what's going on with hr. The son of one of my moms friends got a job thier too, and he was going through the same thing I am, so I just ditched taco bell and got a different job. Just wondering if I should do the same at this point.

Feel free to seek out other jobs, but don't accept one until the situation with Taco Bell is resolved. You accepted the Taco Bell job, and they expect you to come work for them. Looks like their HR is slow, which is not uncommon.

If you do find another job and would like to accept it, please let Taco Bell know that you are withdrawing from them, and tell them why, before accepting the other job. It's the professional, and right, thing to do.

It us definitely a sad situation to be working at a fast food joint at 31 years of age. I worked at a place like that in grade 10 when I was 16 and still in high school.

I'd strongly advise getting an education and a career that has longevity so that you won't have to take dead-end jobs. Like tech, engineering, real estate, health care, finance, law just something lucrative that involves a skill someone can't take from you.
