My dad suggested I get into the NFT thing since people my age are somehow making millions off of something any average artist can make.
I’m not concerned about getting rich off of these, just a small investment

Technically yes, but making millions of it, i guess its unlikely.
You have to find people who believe its worth investing money into them.13
you should probably wait for a bit because by progressing forth at such a young age you could get scammed by people because you haven't been told by someone trustworthy how it works - if you have some connections with people who can get you contacts with the right people who can help you progress the right way you could go very far - just be careful is all ig22

NFT are like buying portraits from an auction (like you see people giving millions to buy a portrait or an exclusive something). If you are not a certified artist, chances are you probably won't make any profits
Furthermore, to host a NFT on the Ethereum blockchain, you need to give some "gas" (a transaction fee) (please confirm by yourself) so in your case, it may be a loss
A better route for you is to become a concept artist or do freelancing stuff (please check video game art and design field and digital illustration)
Imagine finding value in pictures that can be infinitely copied and pasted over the internet. They're even more useless than cryptocurrency and digitally distributed software. At least for crypto, governments are already forming their own digital currencies and backing them with real assets. And for software, it can be used for whatever it's meant to do even if it's pirated lol.
