Do you consider a writing career to be a real job?

I believe that God told me at least 6 times that he wants me to write books for a living and I rejected both a career in psychology and a career in art creation to do it and people have been mocking me for years saying I’m a loser because I work as a writer and not as a cashier or a janitor who can document and report their hours to an employer, I’m not good at chemistry but I could have become a psychologist if I wanted to cause I used to have a memory that was better than your average student at Yale, now I’m older so not as smart, but not mentally retarded. Just normal in intelligence. And my cousin has four Ivy League degrees and she can edit me for grammar and spelling, it’s my ideas that make me unique.
