So I worked in a bank for a year but halfway through I moved to a different branch within the same bank so I was in this branch for 6 months. I only left a few days ago as it was a very long commute for me and I got an offer of a better job with a better salary. I was always a good employee. I did my job well as my colleagues told me so and I arrived on time, stayed late and I was always pleasant. My manager was a woman but she never really spoke to me and we never even really had a proper conversation. She would not even thank us for staying late or nothing and if a customer was shouting at us my manager would never come out to back us up or anything even if she heard what was going on. It was my last day and my manager gave me a bottle of champagne in the morning and that was from everyone as a leaving gift but she left early and never even said goodbye or wished me luck or nothing. Do you think this was out of line?
I think she was trying to just stay professional. Maybe she was all that time just looking out for u. And maybe just couldn't handle a face to face goodbye of sorts. I've had plenty of managers that would skip last days of their employees workdays on purpose cause they get too attached XD. But can't admit it. I know a lot of managers would in a perfect world would probably get really bent out of shape if they were really honest. At the idea of losing a talented employee.

Probably she hates her job but still keeps doing it to pay her bills. Such people exist everywhere.
