Have you ever considered starting a business, if so what would it be?

I have The first one I didn't it to prove a poiint it was petroleum service and maintenance anything to do with the gas station I rebuilt with fix it the new pumps in new computers consoles I did that for 25 years 26 years in Reno and a man from California came up talk to me told me he was so far in the red he's going to lose everything and asked me if I could come and help him he said he had talked to my bosses and they gave him my name so I went there
And within a couple months I was making him like $93,000 a month to $100.000. And one day I walked in the the office he was sitting at my desk.. and he had about 5 folders of jobs I had done.. and I asked what he was doing and the harder ilooked.
I could see he was changing the numbers around on the totals
I said what are you doing anyway lo g story short I said you can't do that your making pure profit instead of buying the $3,000 electronic board I would fix it so you could save $3,000 right there and then make 3000 anyway he told me if I didn't like it there's the door and I slipped it in and I said okay I started to walk out he said it leave my truck here and I said fuck you I'm taking that truck to my house and getting my tools off of it and then I will bring it back and I will park it and I will get my truck and I will go home and I left he came to my house
He begged me to come back and I said no you just fucked up and so the next day I made a plan when it has some business cards made went down and got it a business license and I start making phone calls because all those people were now my people it took me a lot of hard work to get those people to come back to his business but anyway for probably about 6 months everything was going good but I had been a girl 3 months before all this happened but she wanted out of that town so I ended up walking away from it and then ended up walking away from her oh well
And the other business is I do remodeling I fixed Holmes anything to do with the house mobile home Building business I fix it or repair it or build it but I'm onto a new adventure I want free money and if everything works out it's going to be great and I get to relax a little bit more and have fun instead of working work all day it's a happy job and it's really not even work even though it is a little bit but it's fun and that will give me an opportunity to Biltmore custom furniture and stuff like that
I would own and operate my own catamaran, and take people on sailing/scuba diving/kayaking/windsurfing/etc adventures.
I have actually thought about this a fair bit, because there are skippered charters running all over the world, and people pay between $2K-$5K per person, per week, to go on these chartered trips.
A catamaran like the one above typically has 4 cabins with a queen bed in each one. I would love to carry scuba equipment and an air compressor, just sail around and scuba dive. I also know a lot of people would love to learn to sail as well, and that could be part of some packages.
To me, this would be my idea of "love what you do for a living and you'll never work a day in your life."
Unfortunately, I'm about $750K short of getting the ideal catamaran I want at the moment:
There are also all the considerations about insurance, licensing, liability, etc.
I’ve always wanted to own my own antique bookshop. It would hold all kinds of antique books, odd books that weren’t found anywhere else. I’d have a parrot inside, and a cat that would roam around. Outside, there would be benches so people could look through the books. Maybe a coffee place right outside with free coffee. I wish I could have that!
I started my own baking business in quarantine since I had time. I’m also in the process of working on my own private practice since I’m tired of working under people.
Yes and thank you!
@lovedejj_xo
you go girl totally with you on working for yourself :D
Thank you

I had three partners a business plan and was in the process of gathering tools and parts when the government and the Trusted News Initiative partners told us the world ended. Supply lines snapped overnight and it turned back into a pipe dream. Why aren’t the unvaxed dying, if covid legitimately was worth wrecking the worlds small businesses over? It seems like it was more of a Marxist direct action campaign to wipe out economic options that don’t involve state control or state power than biological virus.
Tell that to my grandmother who died from Covid, and my old pastor who left 3 kinds under the age of 10 and a wife on their own.
Since that is as you describe impossible I don’t see what trying would accomplish.
Exactly a because they are unvaccinated and they died
In an (allegedly) free country they made their choice. I was referring more to the roughly half the country that isn’t vaccinated not dying off as a group.
No one was forced to get vaccinated, that’s being dramatic, you’re more than welcome not to but there are consequences to every action. If you don’t want to follow the rules then you don’t get to participate, that when what children are told… so why is it any different for adults?
The fact that we’re having this debate implies I’m participating in life just fine. I’m not sure where you’re going with that. I do have to disagree with your definition of coercion however.
Holding someone’s ability to feed their children hostage to your politics is pure evil, and only the most hard hearted villain couldn’t see that.
I did… I got vaccinated in order to feed my child and support my family. Only a cold hearted villain would put their own stubbornness before the well-being of those they love.
That’s not how it works at all. Nobody gets to coerce anyone into violating their beliefs or integrity or bodily sovereignty for any reason. Have you ever thought or said my body my choice at any point in life before?
The true test of moral integrity is when a principle applies even if it’s inconvenient or has outlived it’s usefulness.
And which belief does a vaccine violate? A religious belief or just the fact that you don’t like being told what to do?
As referenced earlier, my body my choice. I shouldn’t even have to explain that to you.
Christians might also wish to consider the role that abortion played in the development of every single vaccine.
I don’t claim to be one however you referenced having a pastor.
There is a literal abortion ritual laid out in the Bible…. and god killed his baby and a bunch of other so they don’t have much room to speak. But if we’re going down that line of reasoning, then they should avoid doctors all together since some horrendous abuse and torture had been done in the name of science which has been used to make the medical filed what it is today. Gynecology is one of them…. But they will turn a blind eye to that when it’s confinement like they normally do.
But yeah, it is your choice and you are free to chose and live with the consequences of that choice.
What is this abortion ritual in the bible? You are the first person I have encountered to mention that. It is unlikely, but not impossible, that mainstream Christianity has the wrong idea and you by yourself are correct, so please tell me more. I’d be happy to re-evaluate a previously held opinion in light of new true information.
My original psi toon, which hads been restated subsequently, is that it is a choice that millions of people have made who are not dying, which should at least give coercive profit margin pushers pause to evaluate whose interests their beliefs really serve, in light of the evidence that it was not necessary.
Numbers 5:11–28 addresses a procedure whereby a man who suspects his wife of infidelity can take her to the priest and make a formal accusation. The priest then performs a prescribed ritual that would result in a miscarriage. No proof required, all he has to be is suspicious.
On further review that passage does exist. So what then is the standard for proving that contradictory idea superior to others which disagree with it if not subjective preference?
Thank you for acknowledging that my body my choice is valid for the millions of people still alive who didn’t vax. If only employers and media were so enlightened.
Vaccine requirements have been around for decades in the travel, education and medical industries. It's not like it's a new thing...
Lots of evil things have been around for millennia. Past practice does not validate present morality.
Yeah, sort of looking in to it at the moment, have for last month or so.
It started off as a bit of a joke, then it got a couple of names and then I started digging a bit more into it all.
Tea & Torture a more discerning kink establishment.
Although Morrigan has also been mentioned as a name.
Earlier in month I had a chat, night out with some dancers while in Birmingham.
Also put a rudimentary business plan together the other night with a friend (was involved in dancing etc).
@harleigh90 what else would it need you reckon?

@ChrisMaster69 Always a partnership 🥰

I did. Magician. I'm still working on it, but at the moment, it's kind of a "side hustle" because I need to get paid so I can live.
I'm struggling, especially with the marketing, though it's people, too... and getting enough work.
I may be moving, because where I live, while filled with well-off people, they're not very respectful to entertainers, and even most small businesses. I get little to no help to make things easier.
I'm tired of having several jobs because people are so cheap and selfish and none of them are particularly interested in paying for what I do (but they stop for free) which means I'm pretty worn out when it comes to the "side hustle."
Yes, a low cost/no cost, pay whatever you can afford, rape and incest counseling service. Somewhere kids between 9 and 16, can receive low-cost quality mental health care at little or no cost to the parents! I doubt my win personal finances will be enough to cover the building and staff required, so I’ll doubtless need grants, but I’m sure I could find the grants needed.
No im an employee. I thought itd be fun to start a retro air charter using old period style aircraft, loud messy noisy radial engines, smart dressed pilots, crew AND passengers, full dining and lodging service, big band jazz and all the glory of what aviation should be. Like pam am before the jet age. Not this aerial bus service we get nowadays
I already own and operate three funeral homes, with plans to close one and open another where there’s more of a need in two years. I recently acquired 246 acres of land that will open as a natural burial cemetery in 2025. By 2027 I plan to offer water cremation as well. I’ve got my hands full.
No, I was part owner of a business and it was a lot of work, headaches and responsibility. I worked 6 days a week and there were many years when I had no vacation. I like just coming to work during the day and leaving it all there when I go home at night.
Yes.
In fact, if things go according to plan (God willing) I'm thinking of starting an international grocery-store with an internal prepared-meals service ("food-stall" at least, "restaurant" at most) in 2 countries, selling to each side each other's treats & delicacies.
It is ambitious, and will take a lot of hard work & years of saving, but I'll never know the final outcome unless I try.
yes, a recycle, reuse, repurpose and reduce business/company... I seriously considered starting one till I saw how much and incredibly difficult the government will make it for anyone who wants to get involved on this
I would love to start a franchise of homeless shelters that would also double as coffee shops for the public and I would like the homeless residents to work them to gradually rebuild their self worth, dignity and confidence.
Yeah but don’t know how I would go about it. I’d try to create a product which would make peoples lives easier in whichever regard the product is designed for. No specific idea as I’ve always thought of innovating a prior creation and perfecting and modernizing it
I've dreamed about owning a zero-waste store chain for cities and towns that don't have them.
Suzuki or Triumph (maybe carry a couple other brands) bike dealership.
Titty weighing? Seriously though, lingerie is basically recession proof.
No... I have too much stress as it is.
Did you see your singing twin I posted about a few days ago?
Definitely a bra company that sells common sizes that are hard to find like 26D and up, 28D and up, 30D and up
Never considered a serious business. I did run my own one-man painting business in college. During summer breaks, I painted house exteriors and some interior rooms.
Yup. Run a few when I was younger, too.
I'm working on a DnD side business. I'm also growing a garden for the first time and may look to sell extra produce in my neighbourhood.
I never once considered starting my own business, I was just fine with working somewhere creative. I can't lead to save my life and I can't be trusted with finances.
I did a few times and sold them.
