What to do when someone laughs at my stutter or speech impediment?

Anonymous
At my job, I am a cashier and it gets tough sometimes to do my job when my stutter is bad some days. On those days, it gets hard to say “how’s your day going “ and that’s when customers laugh at it and it gets me really mad on the inside but just show a blank face. I recently found out that co-workers that I thought were friends are mocking it behind my back. Is there a way to handle being laughed at besides just standing there because it’s really hard to say nothing.

Also, I used to think not talking is an option but in reality it’s not really because I’m a very talkative person. But it gets annoying when I can’t say simple words and when I do stutter people laugh.
