Inviting a professor home?

I am finishing my master's degree thesis (I finished all my classes two years ago) and I also already have a regular job. There is this professor who is my mentor for my thesis that I go along with pretty well but I also wasn't in contact with for almost 1.5 years, since I wasn't focusing on my thesis. Now I am focusing on it again and I still need his help/input on some things. Is it okay if I invite him home so that we discuss those things or would I be that be to personal?

Meet him on school property, either in his office or in the library, as @Staximus suggested, or in one of the meeting rooms on campus. Meeting at your home? Even with your intentions, the appearance of impropriety would make it unwise for him to accept.

If you want to keep it all business, meet him at his office or class room, or at the school library. Somewhere that says "I'm here to work on my thesis". Inviting him to your house might give him the wrong idea, like you want to get him in bed- unless there are other people there with you like friends or family, which says "it's not you and me time".

I actually met mine in his office and he tried to make a move... and he was a newlywed. So i’d stick to public school places
