That would be preferable, most of mine involved cold sweat, "go help the engineers finish the project" when I'm a chemist... shot that one down by asking for an engineer's pay, had to break into a lawyer's office to collect money they owed, asked to just "spend" because they had lost something like 750 mil in taxpayer's money (in the end the feds didn't notice the money missing anyway), we had just hooked up 3 phase power to a distro box, it exploded and shocked the guy closest to it, he went to the hospital, I was next up in experience... had to hook up the next distro box. Working another event with dicey power it killed with a lot of VIPs with private security, when the emergency lights came on lots of guns pointing everywhere, moved real slow to hook up to the generator we brought as the venue was habitually unreliable.
Posting an ad on instagram doesn't seem bad, those are just the ones that flash through my head. You will make more money working for dicey people like the government though lol
Sounds like your boss is a clown.
While nowhere near as silly, the worst consistent issue I've had to deal with both as a minion and a manager (and also the military) is a rapid, sudden shift of priorities at the last minute, as well as corporate/higher leadership entities who are so disconnected that they don't even communicate with each other before passing crap on to me, creating contradictory standards and procedures. The COVID lockdown era was especially fun because everyone was working from home, completely scared shitless and acting irrationally even a year and a half later.
I was one minute late. She "caught" me I was about to walk upstairs, she made me turned back to the office, punch in my time card.
I got upstairs, one kid was throwing up with no one to help.
It was very important for her that she made sure I punched in because I was one minute late.. SMH.
And lots of other stuff.. that I don't keep track.
I was paid to spend over an hour changing the labels on boxes which I thought was a waste of time since the label change was so irrelevant and basically only our shop would be using the boxes.

When I was just a little older than you working in a step-down hospital in both PT and OT…a 45 year old nurse that I was normally friendly with…about 6 months in. Grabbed mr by shirt and put me into the equipment room…. That’s probably nothing in todays world…
Wow, that's cheesy (your boss).
Was it effective?
For me it's just been numerous unnecessary inspections and lots of wasted time.
Very cheesy but it worked lol
I worked in a place where my boss would schedule a meeting with me and put it on my calendar and then not show up for it. I used to just sit in the conference room by myself. I was getting paid to sit and do nothing for an hour.
To climb over an 8 foot tall fence, because they "lost the keys" from the main gate and that's how we were supposed to get to work now.
I quit that place the next Monday lol.
If it is ridiculous I usually stand up for myself and say no. But I work in a laboratory. So most ridiculous requests are either unsafe or unethical.
Had several female bosses that wanted to sleep with me & once rejected made my life a living he'll. This has happened many times to the point I won't apply if there's a woman in charge.
I worked in a bank and had to dress up in a cowboy outfit and make pancakes for the staff before opening time.
Nothing like that. I've had to deal with some demanding clients before.
If you are forced to appear in ads, make him pay you accordingly.
