When looking for a new position, do you check the company reviews?

So, I really think this position is good but the company reviews are bad.
I won't be doing what every one else is doing where most of the reviews were bad... now I'm worried

I do. I also talk to people who worked there in the past, if possible.

To me, company culture is a big thing. Is the team I'm joining going to be fun and educational to work with or is it going to be a political Game of Thrones?

I ask a lot of pointed culture and office attitude type questions when I interview. I ask about boss' management styles and how their team would speak about them.

If I'm spending significant time with a team, I want to know I'm not going to hate going in every day. I did that and I'm not doing it again.

I'll look at Glassdoor reviews, talk to people I meet before I meet the panel, etc. Whatever I can do to get an accurate image of the company - especially since HR's job is to sell me on the position.

Not the worst thing you could do, also check why people leave, is it because the company sucks, or they have learned and are ready to move up.
