Would you ask the job you applied for, for an update if they want to hold on to your resume?

I applied for a receptionist job 2 weeks ago.

The company called me and said they wanted someone with a bit more experience working in a law firm. As I've only worked in one for 2 months doing reception but they also have position for an office assistant role.

The company is a law firm.

They said they want to hold onto my resume for the office assistant role but they still need to advertise the job. They said I didn't need to re apply.

I heard from them last Monday & they said they would post the job ad on my country's job search website.

I've looked every day & didn't see anything come up until today.

I have the managers email. She said to email her if I have any questions.

Would you email her to ask what's happening?

Its taking them a while to sort their new employee. I've been turning down a few other jobs because I'd like to work in a law firm again.

Do you think this role sounds promising?

I'm not sure weather to wait, as in the end they might not even want me.

Would you wait a few days and say:

"I've seen the job ad posted & was wondering if you had an update?"

Thank you in advance
