The only one which might be false is the reindeer statement. However, there is no "official" description or drawing of the reindeer, so some artists might depict all males while others draw a coed grouping.
Female reindeer grow antlers as well. Males shed their antlers after the rut and females shed theirs in the spring, usually after making the next generation of sleigh bearers. Ell oh ell!
for me... the Twelve Days of Christmas are the, how many days I'll be eating all kinds of great Mexican Christmas food...
I think the Christmas tree originated in America.
I donât know that it began in Germany, but the evergreen tradition during the solstice was a pagan ritual that started long before what is now the USA was even colonized. There is some debate about how and why it became a Christmas tradition, depending upon who you ask. Christians suggest that when theirs was the minority religion, they had to mask their religious rites with pagan traditions in order to avoid persecution. The pagan minorities, particularly the Celts and Slavs, suggest that Christians appropriated their traditions in order to influence transition away from paganism and to Christianity.
Either way, Christianity was the dominant religion by the time the US was colonized and the Christmas tree tradition likely arrived with the Dutch.
No, Germany.
You think wrong... lol...
It's indeed from Germany.
I think they might all true so it could be a trick question
1. Maybe Christianity wanted to merge Santa Claus with St Nicholas, but the origin of the character is Grandfather Frost - several different versions of the pagan mythical character, revived in socialist and secular countries, he brings presents for New Years.
2. I'm not a veterinarian, so I'm not sure about the gender of Santa's reindeer, but I know that both male and female have antlers.
3. As a non-religious person, I don't know what The Twelve Days of Christmas refers to.
4. Perhaps the Christmas tree tradition started in Germany, but New Years tree is older (Estonia in 1441 and Latvia in 1510. officially).
A, I know 100% is true, because I visited his tomb
C, I always sort of GUESSED that was the reason
The only one I have no clue about is B, but it kind of makes sense. But at the same time, I feel the feminists would be bitching about that. Also, it's possible for females to have antlers. I'm gonna vote THAT one
3 + 1 = 4, but there are 6 options in the poll.
Those extra two are there because some people don't trust me. đ
Both male and female reindeer have antlers but only the female reindeer retain their antlers during the winter months.
I didn't have the energy to look any of this up, even though I have learned about all of these in Christmas Past!
Santa Claus is satan but in a humorous, deceptive way
The Christmas tree tradition was started in Scandinavia. People think it was Germany because of the famous song oh Tannenbaum. But they are wrong.
Some of Santaâs reindeer are female
The whole reindeer being female is an intenet myth
Hi Poppy I put your question picture on my picture profile if thatâs OK with you if not, Iâll take it off now but that reminds me of me and you since we were talking about it the other day
Not really. Itâs based on facts. Male reindeer shed their antlers after the rut. So they wouldnât have antlers at Christmastime. Females shed their antlers in the spring. So they would still have their antlers during Christmas.
True but many haven't shed by Christmas. Santas reindeers are likely castrated to reduce aggression and this would delay antler shedding
Who wouldnât want rowdy reindeer?
They're gurls!
