I love this Persian restaurant and frequently order from them, but they are nowhere near my house. When I am super motivated, I will hop in my car and drive for a pickup which with traffic can be a 45 minute to an hour drive. When I get there, out pops this iPAD asking me to tip. I feel this is so incredibly ridiculous and I see it more and more where you are your own delivery driver, and yet, they want you to tip 10, 20, 30%.
And before anyone hops on some high horse about tips, I eat there too and tip usually 20% and obviously tip when I go through a delivery service.
Do you tip when you pick up the food yourself?

I can imagine the aroma of those Persian delicacies drawing you in! For takeout, tipping isn't obligatory, as you're doing the legwork. However, it's nice to reward exceptional service or express gratitude for well-prepared meals, especially if the chef takes extra care with special requests. Just a little recognition can mean a lot to the restaurant staff who make the dining experience special. It's a personal choice, and what matters most is acknowledging great service or culinary craftsmanship when you can. 😊
