Do you tip for deliveries?

Do you tip for food deliveries and the like? I don't, because the delivery service takes most of it anyway, and I am not going to subsidize their business any further. They need to pay their workers more.

I always tip.

I never get deliveries, except from postal services. If I did, I would tip them cash so it can't be stolen.

I saw a fake claim about "desperate drivers", but there's real abuse behind that:

"For example, if a driver is guaranteed $10 for an order, DoorDash’s policy makes the company responsible for ensuring that the driver gets that $10 — if a customer tips nothing, then DoorDash pays out the $10 to the driver. But if a customer tips $5, the delivery driver may still only receive that $10 minimum; DoorDash would have to pay less out of the company’s dime to ensure that the driver hits the minimum."

I never use a food delivery app or service and never have any food delivered. I stopped having food delivered before there was services or apps because I had terrible luck. The food was always either the wrong order, cold, took forever, or all three. I'd rather just go pick it up and check the order before I leave.

Well, there aren't really any deliveries in these parts except propane and firewood, etc. I've known Ron the firewood guy pretty much my whole life so when he drops off firewood in the fall I usually give him a home made bottle of wine so, I guess, that's tipping.

Yeah. But I rarely get deliveries, too expensive. Years ago the one thing that fast food had over cooking at home was that it cost less, restaurants too.

I tip the cash ones, I don't tip pizza (only time I'll use a chain) because it's on a credit card and they aren't allowed to take cash (never gets to the driver I worked in a restaurant, cash worked in the pocket, cards went to the boss)

if you don’t tip, you’re gonna get a bad reputation with the Pizza Hut company or Uber eats that’s just my opinion on it. I can understand where you’re coming from but then they dont get paid that much the delivery drivers and then who pays for their gas?
