Is it weird to ask for my teacher's number?

So I'm graduating today, and I've been wondering for the last few days if I should ask for my psychology teacher's number next time I visit him. I'll be visiting him often since he expects me to seek out certain things and report back to him—not for romantic reasons. So I must know, would it be strange for me to ask for his number for convenience sake? I find it a bother to keep in contact with him through email exclusively.

If you really want to do this, it won’t be weird as long as you give a disclaimer—a very reasonable and legitimate reason for why you’re asking for the number. Explain the reason, keep it professional, and it won’t be weird. It’s one of those things that will only be awkward if you make it awkward.
