Today in my country there were job fair and many multinational companies participated. Like 3000 people attended mostly young and the requisite was to present your resume online for the position you wanted to apply., that was it, just collect information and they tell you "We will call you if you fullfill the requirements", imagine to how many people they tell you that only one company. OTher companies ask for experience, mostly in young people and how come a person have experience if you are not given the opportunity to gain the experience.
In the country I live as I believe in other countries as well, after the pandemic the unemployment was high but now still is and ther are people with years of not finding a job and sometimes your studies are not enough to find a job easily, cause working on your own in a total different thing that you may not even have experience and has to start from scratch and not related to what you studied in college or university may give you more chance than to find a job related to what you studied at college or university.

Unfortunately, there are people who spent $$ and time studying carreers that are not booming at this moment and possibly not enough job positions in those careers. Also in these job fairs if you had hit a certain age, the companies see you with bad eyes, and dont hire you either, they need fresh blood, not old blood with much experience, as they prefer to pay a young person they can train than an older experienced employer who may ask for more money due to their experience.

Other people beleive job fairs do work cause they have found their jobs thanks to them. And other people believe that the reality is that now in these hard times, if a person can find a job easily if you have "connections" with a person who works at some company, so you dont go through all the process a new employee goes through before being hired.
