I really like my job. But my salary is way below what I should be making due to inflation. Advice on asking for a raise?

I’ve been working at the same company for almost 7 years now.

I like almost everything about it: People respect me. Workload is reasonable. Benefits are decent. Company won’t tolerate asshole people for long (they will usually get fired or pressured to quit). I have lots of autonomy. Boss is really cool.

My salary was actually quite competitive when I first started working in 2015. However I have only gotten a few incremental raises since. After checking an inflation calculator a few days ago I am actually $10k beneath what I should be making annually right now if my salary was adjust from 2015 to 2022.

Any advice on how to bring this up to my boss?
