Employers are allowed to ask about past convictions and arrests, but they are not allowed to discriminate against those applicants. Even so, most government jobs automatically exclude those convicted of a felony, whether or not they actually severed prison time.

Yes they do.

a criminal can be put in prison for a number of reasons.

Some have a direct impact on their ability to find work or work in their previous sector.

there are companies that support those released from prison.

It's hard- and is a big part of why so many go back to crime, and wind up back in prison. But it DOES happen, and I know there are at least a few organizations that help ex-cons turn their lives around.
