Does anyone else think it’s really weird how interested people are in true crime?

I watch and listen to true crime. & yes it relaxes me, because I'm sitting on my ass - mindlessly watching TV as I knit. Nothing offensive about being interested in the human being & see what results in them doing horrendous stuff.

I also watch a lot of documentaries about history around the world & oh boy, is that a bloody mess - guess I'm being offensive there too. 🤣

I’m interested in it based on the psychological and cultural implications. I am a very curious person about why people do the things they do.

You can’t change history or the outcome of what has happened, so why is it offensive? There’s forms of consent I’m sure that goes around before stories of these real people are just thrown around. I think this is measly ridiculous to be offended over.

I think it’s weird when people portray their interest in true crime like it’s some kind of fictional tv show and the victims are just characters where they act like it’s fun and relaxing to watch it. I think it is somewhat fine when people casually watch it to gain knowledge of the past and the way crime investigation has evolved.
