As long as you are working, have a roof over your head, and are contributing equally to the bills, food etc… you are NOT a bum, not at all! A bum is usually someone who is either deliberately unemployed or underemployed, and relies on someone else to pay their way in life! In other words, a freeloader!

As long as you can afford food, shelter, clothing, and pay your portion of the bills, you’re good. You usually have to be extremely dependent on someone else affording all of that for you to come across as a bum

i haven't always had a good paying job but still do things , not lazy. still take out the garbage and clean up around the house.
and generally found other ways to make small amounts of money if low
