It seems pretty competitive/cutthroat.
Is a commission based furniture job worth it?

It seems pretty competitive/cutthroat.
It depends, honestly.
It is worth it if you are just as determined and cutthroat, otherwise it will be a stressful and toiling experience. Commission-based salesjob are literal shark pits and you can't allow to drop even a spill of blood because your colleagues will be quite ready to take advantage of it. Also, this is the kind of job that you can't really plug off from - often you have to be always "on", although maybe with furniture it's different than something like, for example, insurance.
I said yes but it’s worth noting that I’m a very competitive person and just the idea Of making more earnings than my competitors makes my mouth water…

only if you're willing to cut throat on the daily basis...
If you enjoy sales, then it doesn't matter if it's pencils, furniture or nuclear reactors. It's all the same; only the knowledge is different.
