But I'm not really making much progress, also the right pronunciation is little tricky all on my own and a work colleague told me to try an app but she has never done that soo I don't know
Any advice?
Busuu. com (has an app too). The free version is very good, but I’d recommend the paid for version as well if you can afford it. (At least for Japanese and French), it does a great job of offering you set vocabulary lists and explanations on grammar and pronunciation, as well as good examples and easy practice sessions. The only problem with this app is you have to regulate yourself (don’t rush ahead just because you feel the first few lessons are easy).
Duolingo is good for vocabulary and practicing listening and writing sentences, but certain languages can progress very quickly, and you have to keep a steady pace for yourself. This app doesn’t go into as much grammar as might be helpful, so it’s often advised to use duolingo more as a fun challenge or addition to your main language software.
Memrise has some good courses, but you have to find one that works for you, and be able to regulate your speed and rate at which you progress. It is good for listening and speaking practice, but does not go into much grammar or sentence practice.
Thank you very much! This is really helpful advice, I will look into it after work
Well I WOULD say Google translate, but we play a game where we use GT to translate a phrase into Chinese, then from Chinese we translate it back to English… and try to figure out what the hell it was originally supposed to be… It’s hilarious! Try it sometime, some are easy, but others are just friggin’ hilarious!
that is one great show... lol
I've heard that Duolingo has very good speaking exercises and practice, but I have not tried it myself
you should give a try, lol
Duolingo is king. It works pretty well. I would also recommend Mauril for English people learning french.

I'd say Duolingo, been trying to learn German for a year and every time I feel bad for abandoning the goal, really good for reading and tests your spelling and pronunciation as well...
Thanks! Also german isn't easy to learn, I'm sure as long as you keep going for your goal, you will reach it one day 🙏🏼
Thanks xx
I studied Latin, French, German and Spanish. I don’t do well with any of the languages that I have studied. I don’t believe in language apps, I think that you need to live in the country and learn the language along with a course in conversational studies
When I want to learn foreign languages for free, I rely on inter linear religious scriptures cause the English and foreign translation can be read next to each other, it works very well for me.
It’s good, i know a few simple words in German, Spanish and French
Duolingo. My mom and one of my sisters seem to enjoy using it.
Duolingo for basic things and then I recommended to you youtube short videos for listening
