Is becoming rich possible if you begin your life project in your 30s?

I think God has been showing me not to rely on a man for money and I’ve been trying to make my own money as an author for years. It also means I cannot marry a guy for his financial status which would probably not happen anyway since I won’t sleep with a guy I’m not married to. My cousin was late twenties when she began her business and she is now rich but it took over 8 years for her to get this type of money. She was rich before but quit and began her business at the height of her income, when she had been promoted to manager at the Wall Street hedge fund.

Yes absolutely. At the age of 30 you still have around an average of 40 years before retirement to achieve financial freedom (which by definition is having paid off all debt, own a house and have savings for retirement). Generally it is a much easier to achieve this goal if you have a partner in life who can help share this burden.

There is a great series of videos by financial adviser Dave Ramsey which I would encourage anyone to watch regardless of income status. Dave is someone who overcame his debt issues early in life by simply applying some common-sense and is now a multi-millionaire in his own right, providing financial advice to others on how to get out of debt, save for retirement and reach financial freedom.

When I was very young I didn't care much about saving for retirement. But now as I get older I place much more emphasis on these matters because I find they are becoming important to me. Our priorities certainly change as we get older.

When life expectancy was around 40, I imagine that the majority of the first generation rich (self made, no inherited) realized their fortunes in their 30s. Contemporarily, yes. With how viral everything can be now, anyone can be rich with a catchy enough idea.

I can look at everyone as having a financial status. Hypergamous, hypogamous, commensurate, or not even at all.

Absolutely- there is still plenty of time. Yes, you may have to work harder and save more than you did than if you had started around age 22, but it's still quite possible to do it.
