How would you feel about a gay teacher who often talked about their spouse?

The male teacher might say something like "Oh yeah i had a nice birthday with my husband over the weekend, how was your weekend kids?"

Would you feel this is inappropriate?

I mean school should only be for kids to learn math, English, science, etc. Nothing else should be said or taught. If it does come out accidently then that is fine but they shouldn't put any thoughts unto kids

Same way I answered the other question. I work at a school that goes from K-8. A lot of our 6-8 graders are outly gay or bi so I doubt they would care. And we also have quite a few gay teachers so 🤷🏾‍♀️

The only thing that is inappropriate is that ANY (Gay or NOT) teacher should NOT talk to their students about their private lives! My teachers NEVER spoke about their families, nor would I expect them to.

ME? I wouldn't really care. Although I’ll say this… I JUST got out of high school last year, and I absolutely KNOW that no teacher EVER talked to us about their spouses, or how their weekend went! Like if you even asked about their weekend, they’d either just say something like “it was very nice, thank you for asking” or “none of your business, sit down, you’re late… AGAIN! One more this month young lady, and I’m personally calling your parents! Do we understand eachother?”

I love the people who voted A, because I'm assuming they're alright with a STRAIGHT treacher mentioning their partner in passing.

Soon they're going to ban mother's day & father's day because they don't want to talk about having 2 moms or 2 dads.

If a gay teacher can't mention their spouse in passing, neither can straight teachers

I don't think that a conversation like that is appropriate for a class. I understand that teachers also have private lives but they should avoid talking about personal matters.

It's alright as long as the teacher (whether gay or straight) isn't sharing anything that's too personal or actually inappropriate (like sex life).

Normal, my history teacher during 10-13. Grade always talked about his husband, they even got married and he brought us cake
