Why are long term dating couples more educated than other groups?

My friends friend and her boyfriend started dating in high school and she got a PhD in biochemistry while he got an engineering degree from MIT and later another degree in law. He was the first person from his family to graduate college. I know another couple that began dating when they were 18 and she got a doctor in psychology and works as a psychologist at the local prison and he got a degree in corporate and real estate law and they are married with kids now.

I find it all depends on how you're brought up in a sense. I find majority of kids want to do better than their parents have, meaning being more successful etc. That is just my opinion though, each story is different. One of the girls I dated in college... studied in Accounting like me and didn't do well but she switched majors and went into cell and molecular biology and did amazing. I never really studied till I met her in a library. I guess some people feed of the other peoples work ethics and energy

I say they just work together to accomplish their goals. They have each other to motivate plus if they are thinking about having kids one day I'm sure that gives them the drive to push each other
