What’s your biggest pet peeve at your job?

As a server, it pisses me off when people choose to sit down and eat when they’re in a rush to be somewhere.
Then they expect you to prioritize them over your other tables and they get mad if things are taking too long. So its MY fault that you suck at time management and decided to go to a sit down restaurant when you have to be somewhere by a certain time?

today one of my coworkers had a table where it was a couple who are trying to catch a plane all the way in Boston. I’m sorry but are you fucking stupid? 😭 their plane was at 4 and they sat down at 3:30. Please note that Boston is like 45 minutes away from here, it could even be longer because the traffic going into Boston is horrific. Plus they gotta go through security.
They’re trying to rush my coworker to get their food out faster. Baby girl, even if y’all didn’t sit down and eat, you still would of missed it. Get your shit together. Don’t blame your own irresponsibility on the server 😐

Another thing is when customers say something like “Oh my god, you’re here everyday! Don’t you ever get a day off?”
Like girl I work here, of course I’m here everyday 😭 a better question is why are YOU here everyday?

I think a lot of them lie so they will not have to wait for their food, the couple flying to Boston probably had 5 hours to spare because how many would buy a plane ticket and trash it without using it?

But either way, lying to get prioritized over other guests is still rude

When people use the microwave of fridge but don't clean up after themselves, leaving it all nasty. I HATE that sh*t! I barely even use the microwave cause rarely do I bring my own food from home into work that requires heating up; it's still just nasty all the time, even if I spend 15 minutes cleaning it.

Offshore co-workers from India constantly lying, even in the face of incontravertable evidence against them. It may actually be respected in India, but not in the west. It destroys any sense of trust.

I understand that you’re in charge but these grown adults that work here you don’t talk to people like they’re children
