Mine is when customers think they know YOUR job better than you do.

Like baby I’m up in this bitch every fucking day. 5-6 days a week, 6-12 hours a day.
And how often are you here? Maybe a few times a year? Once a month at the very most?
I could read the menu off to you blindfolded.
don’t sit here and try to tell me you know the menu better than I do, okay?

One day this woman asked for a Caesar salad and I told her that we don’t have it. She was like “you must be new here, I had it here a couple months ago” I looked at her dead in the eye and said “I’ve worked here for 3 years 😐”

She must of been confusing it for another restaurant and that’s fine, but just admit that.

Sitting here and insisting you’re correct when someone who WORKS here is saying you’re wrong, is insanity. And adding that “you must be new” comment is even crazier lol. Like get the fuck out my face. How obnoxious.

another common thing customers will do is LIE and say another location has certain items or does things a certain way. I had one woman insist to me that the other location included free shrimp on the pasta after I charged her. No the fuck they didn’t.

I don’t know a single restaurant that just gives out seafood for free. And it especially isn’t going to be the exact same restaurant.

so you know what i did? I lied too. I said “well I used to work at the other location and we did charge for it.” Now we’re both liars, bitch LMAOOOOO

Same! Love when a customer tells me "well I've gotten here before." I've been here since day one, 6 years next week. I do the ordering, I stock, I bake etc. I can guarantee that we don't now nor have we ever had tha. And if we did i can usually tell you when it got discounted (we've only dropped a few products since covid). I can tell you the price of damn near everything, customization is where it gets a little tricky (math 😂).

Love it when they say "Well you must be new, the other girl always does it for me" 😂 please don't lie to me or insult me. My whole team know what they can and can't do and I can assure you if they were going to do whatever it is that you're asking they would either ask my permission or tell me immediately after the fact to avoid any potential blow back. Esp. price changes, markdowns, and discounts. They all need to be approved or accounted for.

I love when the tell me the price of a customer cake is wrong. I can go over it with you line by line and explain why your 65 dollar cake could never be $19.99 Especially when I know you were quoted a price they say you ordered. But I can gladly show you any grab and go cake within your price range and box it up for you. I don't even care that I now have to throw away your custom cake for your kids 15th birthday (I'll probably buy it myself and put it in the break room, let the kids eat cake!).

😂🤣🤣 My pet peeve is the regular who always criticizes the food, yet orders the same thing every time and keeps coming back. “The potatoes aren’t the same as (other restaurant)”… ok you can always go to that restaurant? ✌️

Then there’s the “I know the owners” 🙄

Also, “I’ll take care of you if you take care of me”…ok, obviously, that’s how this works right? 😅

There’s one regular at my job is always so rude every time she comes in.
She always orders a spiked strawberry cocktail and then complains that it “doesn’t taste how it’s supposed to” and then she switches it to a sangria.
She does this every. Single. Time.
I’ve tried to explain to her that we use a new brand of flavoring for the drink and that’s probably why it tastes slightly different now but she doesn’t listen.
Like girl you know you’re not gonna like the drink, just start with the damn sangria 🙄🙄🙄

I also hated the social aspect as well as the pain in my feet from standing all day. I remember getting targeted multiple times by racist people at work for being Chinese, more often by racist co workers than racist customers. They would form groups against me so large, that it was their word against mine when I tried to defend myself.
