I'm going on 38 years in Advertising and have 7 years to go till I can retire! I'm done!

I've had some manner of job since I was about 3... I seriously began working when I was 10 sweeping floors in a cabinet shop... Began building them with them men when I was 12, and built my first kitchen by myself when I was 13... Since then I've worked as a library clerk, an ad designer, as an online business owner, twice, as a Graduate Office Assistant, a museum docent, teacher, television Director of Photography, real estate photographer, Census taker, freezer warehouse worker, tractor operator, ranch foreman, roulette dealer, and event planner... Not in that order and many of them simultaneously.
I've been employed for 23 years except for 2 weeks and I freaked out looking for work!
My last job was almost 3 y rs ago when I was fired. I lasted there for 15 years but I did not want to go of course, but in some way I was glad I had to let go, because some coworkers there made my life difficult of course not all but some, especially my boss. She was very demanding but exagerated, criticize me for simple dumbest things, while others who did really need to be punished this boss never tell them anything (you know work circles). i was fired 4 months before the pandemic started in my country and so far still no job for me.
To the poster, I'm still young and just finding my career path in government and policy. But yeah, ideally, I would want to work until I'm 60 with a paid off house, investing in other stuff. Spending time with my kids and my wife. Travelling around the world. Giving back to others. Being more connected with God especially by that age. The current job I do is tiring and exhausting, I have been doing it for 6 years now with the same company. To the poster, I hope the last 7 years can be fun or interesting for you and you can enjoy life and retirement!
I've been working since 1975, most of it in IT apart from some short periods doing other work. I really used to enjoy working in IT, but after nearly 20yrs in the same IT job now I have had enough of it for various reasons. At least the company have been incredibly generous with allowing me time off which we use to travel. Once the kids leave home we plan to retire and travel as long as money and health allow.

I love my job
Lead aquaculture technician
(Working with rehibilitaion of white sturegeon... an endangered species of fish)
3 years now
What i am tired of is toxic lazy people that i work with. I have a solid core group i love. But there are a few that almost make me want to quit
I don't think I will ever get enough of selling my labor for money (7 years). It certainly beats cohabiting with abusive losers or being homeless.
Do I love work? Well, I can't say. Having a low stress job feels kind of like having a long term "vacation" since I grew up in abusive and toxic environments and not to mention food and money shortages. It is liberating to say the least.

^ This feels more like a home to me.

^ I wonder if I would be safer in a prison cell.
Been working since I got out of college: (mid 20s) I've BEEN tired of work! I'm currently an Assistant Coordinator in the Residency Program at my hospital and basically babysit doctors all day... it's interesting, lol. But definitely less stressful than my last job so I can't complain. I'm just tired of working in general.
But I have bills to pay and can't retire for another... ugh, 30 years. So I will just grin and bear it.
We're getting into our busy season, and a few of my co-workers in my department are not trusted to do much on their own by management, meaning I'm stuck doing far more than I should be. I had to tell management that they needed to give me at least a day off most weeks or I'd be submitting my notice.
i'm 26, I worked as an accountant but am now a nurse. I plan on retiring by the time I'm 40 so I can spend more time with my kids. I plan spending my youth working hard to buy several nice properties so I can rent it out and live on that income later on. I just don't think spending most of my life at work will make me happy.
I love my job and love what I do. Gives me energy when I see them each morning.
but I get home very tired. I can retire in a few more years.
I have other passions that I want to continue pursuing since I am still very young!
I am grateful with what I have!
I have been doing this since I was 22.
I was tired as soon as I started working at 19 lol Been at my current job for about almost 7 years now, it's easy but some days I'm over it. I think most people are just over the idea of having to work in general. Most of want to spend our time living and less working. If I could retire now, I would do it.
After doing essentially the same thing (computer systems) for different companies for 30+ years, the pandemic gave me the opportunity to retire early, and I took it. I could have kept going but I'm glad I didn't. I'm enjoying my retirement, the ability to set my own schedule.
I am tired of my work and I no time in it... Who enjoys their work really. It was punishment assigned in the Bible to the fallen created.
I’ve been working for nine months and I’m already sick and tired of it 🥲
No and I'm about 9 years into my primary business, my secondary ones have been 5 and 16 years respectively
Literally It's been so long I have been working here for 1 hour! can't it no more 😴🛌💤.
Just kidding I have no job yet😓
Been working 30 years in two different industries (1/2 and 1/2 each). Still engaged / energized and overall (nothing’s perfect) enjoy my work.
I have been a network administrator for over 20 years. Sometimes I really want to retire and otherr days I feel like I an just getting started.
Some people can last 25 years or more in a job they hate. Not me, i usually cannot last a job that i hate that long. I end up having a feeling of either going nuts staying there or leaving and i end up leaving.
Of course you would be tired of it after 38 years.
I'm in Retail and I enjoy it, But I have only been in it a few years.
In fact, I don't work at the moment, but when I was working in a company, I was bored sometimes
If you only have 7 years left till you retire I'd stick with it unless you have a better way to retire.
I've been doing this trial preparation stuff for about nine years. It pays crazy well, but I am basically on call 24/7 and that does burn me out sometimes.
Kinda. I sell food. I just do it for a living but im drifting slowly to my real passion.
Nope... I love what I do. 22 years and counting.
tired of the actual job that i am required to do? not really.
tired of the people that make it difficult? YES.
I don't like boss due to my boss and I'm not comfortable of the environment. Yet I'm still working here for 3 years, can't resign yet.
I'm interested in that field. Let me know if you ever want help with a project.
It deponds some days are ok but other days are not so good.
I’ve got at least 39 more years at either my current job or another one. However I’m praying I don’t live past 30, then none of it matters.
Hitting 5 years.
I'm exhausted.
Yes, too long…
I am done. Need a new job.
Too long, I think I’ll die here
Not yet.
