Don't you just hate when your job holds you even when the work is done?

I know more than one person that only does productive things for 1/2 to 3 hours during their work shift and spend the rest of the shift wasting time and talking to friends online or over the phone. A lot of intellectual jobs have low time demands so people with very high IQs often do nothing for half their shift or more cause they finish all their work before their shift ends. I know a guy who said he quit his job cause he had very little work to do most of the time at his job and was just staring at the wall for most of his shift. One guy made tons of money but quit out of boredom.
That's me I hate being bored
Ohhhh, when you are one of the bosses, this is an everyday occasion. When I realized this, I had this conversation with myself that those minutes are adding up that I'm not getting paid and some were taking too much advantage of that, and I'm under no obligation to give up my free time to that place, so I started two hours before the end of my shift going around asking if anyone needed anything, what was wrong, what was broken, what internal issues we had. An hour before the end of my shift, I made sure all my paperwork was done for the day and anything I needed for the next morning. Then I would check in with the other bosses. When that clock said time to go, I was gone. We had literal staircases in the building only maintenance and management had keys to, so to avoid any employees being like, oh could you do this or that, I would leave that way.
I hate it
More so the attitudes of the clientele you know, like, happy people or easy to deal with people would make any job a breeze, rather than make a job harder or more work than a job needs to be. Y'all feel my vibes here? Anyways, it's reality lol and like society, mixes of bad and good apples. Sigh. Probably outweighed by bad rude apples though, mmmm. Lol. 😐☺️😐
And i've so far done varied low level roles, all low level. But that's not to grandstand either, in my opinion. 🫣
When my shift is over I'm out the door. The only way they're going to be able to hold me is if they strap me down Hannibal Lechter style and wheel me to the back room. Their time is their time and my time is my time.

It does get frustrating. I have a different work ethic than most people. I always want to be doing something ar work keep myself busy. Even when the work is done, I need to find something else to do.
