How many times have you quit a job?

I will quit a job the moment it becomes inconvenient. I feel like no job is worth my happiness. I have quit a total of 5 jobs since I was 16. I’m considering quitting my current job I get paid $5.00 hr but I make decent tips it’s not a bad job but I know there are other jobs that pay more. My friends don’t seem to understand this and think it’s wrong of me.

I agree I’ll quit a job when I feel like I wanna kill myself. And im not the type to do that. I’d off someone else before myself lmao. But im not about that murder life. Anyways, I quit my first job after 3 months. I just wanted to work at the sporting good store to see sexy men and boy did i! But i ended up dating someone and i had to turn down the other guys offers and that was no fun. It was torture saying no. And also, i was the only one on the team doing shit. None of the other girls/guys on my team would work so i was overworking myself for very little pay. So i quit by lying and saying i had a better offer but in reality, i ended up with no job for 7 months. My second job I was at for almost 4 years. It was horrible but i was too used to it and couldnt bring myself to leave. The pay was almost 3 times the pay of the first job. I told them i was depressed as an excuse to leave but i was actually quite fine. My third job is my current. Its not as bad as the other 2 but its not something i’d do longterm and the way they’re dropping people, I’ll likely be leaving after 4 months. Also, i never give jobs 2 week notices. Fck them

Giirl I have quit every job I ever had so far lol uhm it's 8 in total, the recent was just last week but I have to stay until December and then I can officially leave... no Job is worth, being unhappy

I've never quit a job because it was inconvenient. I left one when my doctor told me I was heading to a full breakdown mentally and I've left two because of injury.

Your profile says you're 22. Assuming that's accurate, quitting five jobs in six years? One or two maybe as a teen if you're treated like shit but five? What do all the jobs you've left have in common: answer - you.

I own my own business now. If your CV landed on my desk I wouldn't consider it. You're a liability not an asset to a company with that kind of turnover.

Life isn't fair. At 22 your job options are limited to entry level - most of which are crap pay, crap hours. Why? Because you have fuck all experience to offer.

You get the better, less "inconvenient" jobs by working your ass off now for a couple of years. Get noticed for the right reasons - not because you quit because it's unpleasant. At 22 they're all unpleasant.

Otherwise do what so many kids seem to do now and prostitute yourself on OF while you're young enough to get guys to believe you're only 18. I mean, what could go wrong with selling your body for money?

The choices you make now are the foundation of the life you want ten years from now.

Suck it up or fuck it up.

So , Im self employed investor , but I came back from OS post covid and thought Id like to do some external work , hahaha , thus far ( and as you can see Im old - ) it has not been a good idea , normally I'm very loyal , but all these jobs have had have been sht , all the pay has been okey , but all been like attending jail , I thought it would be easy , its not ! People want to make things difficult for no reason , there are no $5 hour gigs in Australia , doesn't work like USA , thus far I have quit --

1. Kitchen hand in parliament house.

2 . Caravan Sales

3 . Bedding and mattress sales

4 . Golf Club duties - starter and general duties

All these roles in under 6 months total , I hated them all , and I was in a position to just not proceed , stress is a really important factor , that first gig man was that stressful , when functions were on.

Anyhow , now I have 2 more roles to choose from but in my previous employment area which should be better and hopefully I can last and make a quid , but if you get a bad feeling , tension is high , anxiety is building , if you can , I think its good to just quit , sometimes you just know that the problems can't be solved. Oh well , here we go again :)

"quitting" not exactly, I have not quit a job... I guess it depends on how do we look at that word, and to me it means to leave, and incomplete... in my case either I had a temporary contract and plan to do a certain job for a certain time, which concluded, or I just completed the cycle at that venture I had going on at the moment... it was a good time to move on for good reasons rather than leaving for bad reasons

College however, I did quit college lmao... and I did leave college incomplete because I realized it was not a good decision to have started the way I did, and it would be a bad decision to complete it and be stuck with it or to invest so much on going on with it just to later ditch such career because it really wasn't for me, not what I wanted to do or to be

as for your personal experience, I do agree 100% if it has become inconvenient for you, if it gets on your way to happiness or peace, your wellbeing, and especially if you can find a better one... the best move and way of action is to go for something different and something better, we should always be our own priority and never place any paycheck above of ourselves... well, that's how I see it

Many times. Usually because something better came along. My most satisfying was this shithole that interviewed me for a specific position. They hired me and first day arrives.

I walk in & figure out the area I was hired for. there's some young kid standing there too. I introduced myself & ask if its his first day. Says yes he's hired for the same position as me.

I ask his background he says highschool but didn’t finish 😑 but he’s dating the daughter of the guy that trains us 😡 I had years of exp and education, certification.

In walks manager who informs me they’re training kid first I need to go down to labourers area for now. I’m lead down to this fucking dungeon looking place with crack heads. We had to work 7-5:30 Monday to Friday. Now the place was a bad but the workers were good guys I got along with them.

Get this on Friday they say there's voluntary overtime on Saturday. I decline. Monday the manager walks up and says people who don’t work voluntary overtime get fired.

I previously sent out tons of resumes & the second day there phone rings its another job. They want an interview so that day I called in sick. I get hired on the spot & its salary like 5x other place.

Next day I went in late & told the guys I was done. The manager heard & asked about my two weeks notice I ignored him and continued to walk around saying bye and telling them the place I was going was still hiring.

The manager followed me the entire time telling me to leave now ! I laughed at him and waltzed out.

Was that a typo? Or did you really mean they pay you only $5 an hour? I'm hoping that's a typo. If you're getting payed that quitting is a must. That's not even minimum wage.

I've only quit 4 jobs in my lifetime.

1. Fast food- while in hs got me a little cash other than that wasn't worth it I quit. You don't learn shit but flipping burgers. A pretty brainless job.

2. Retails store- was a step up, seemed funner, but I quit because I finally figured out what career path I wanted. So I applied to a job that was more health care related.

3. Retirement home Concierge worked here until I passed nclex. Great experience but it was time to leave because they only had one nurse position which was already taken by my supervisor. So she had me doing Quality Assurance until i passed my boards. Then I left.

4. Skilled nursing Charge Nurse- worked it for experience 6 months. Great skilled experience but not good for my license because I had 50 patients at night and 25 during the day.

5. Group home Charge Nurse- I loved it 😍 and the patient load was light only 9 pediatric patient's loved it. Stayed there for 6 months for experience then hopped to the next job.

6. Local travel agency - In homes , schools, health and wellness clinics still doing and love because it allows versatility.

The only job I quit was a job I had with a catering company. It wasn't an every day job, it was based on what events the company decided to pick up. And most were out of town and lasted for a few days at a time. The hours were early and the days were long. I felt like a slave. And then they tried to shortchange me with the pay. Which was dumb because since I worked the table and handled the money, I saw how much we brought in. So yeah, i quit.

I quit a job once because my boss kept shorting me on my paycheck. I was supposed to get a 10-% differential for working nights. He did is three weeks in a row and I knew he was just jerking me around. I told him if it happened again I would quit. The very next week he shorted me again so I showed him I do not make idle threats.
