How do you resist the urge of buying when you're planning to save and invest lots of money and stay motivated?

Don't look at the things that tempt you.
If you can't help yourself and MUST shop, only go to thrift stores and yard sales.
Don't carry cash or a credit card - only a debit card with very limited balance and no overdraft protection.
Walk everywhere you go.
Put any spare cash under the control of someone who will keep it "safe" for you.

I don't have these urges... never been a big spender

my older brother is though... so he gives me his money (the one he wants to save) and I keep it at my accounts, lol

he really can't help it sometimes, so he plays it safe
