Do you have clothes and dirty dishes everywhere, or do you put things away and clean immediately when things get out of place? Why are you bothered or unbothered by the disorder?
As you are probably aware from one your previous posts, I live by myself. So I tend to be a good boy and clean as I go. During my working week, yes…I will admit I leave my work clothes layered out on the floor, because I be wearing them the very next day. So the general rule of thumb is, when I finish my last shift, which is Thursday. When I get home, I go and have my bath and change into my lounge clothes. Then I’ll put all my work clothes in the washing machine, and start the wash cycle. Then, when it’s finished it’s cycle, I’ll get them out and hang them around the house overnight to dry. Then Friday morning, once I’m up and had my wash I’ll put them away until Monday.
I’ll change my lounge wear on a weekly basis as I keep myself clean, so everything gets washed together, including underwear and socks which I’ll change daily. On a Sunday, I’ll prepare my sandwiches for work for Monday and Tuesday, clean up and then have breakfast, but I’ll leave my breakfast things until I’ve had my evening meal and wash up everything in one go and leave it to drain overnight. Then Monday morning before I go to work, I’ll put everything away, then just a quick wipe down and everything’s good.
I don’t tend to do much housework during the week, as I seem to spend more time at work, including travelling, so my house doesn’t have chance to get dirty. Any post I receive, I’ll sort it out when I get home and discard anything I don’t need. So basically as I’ve already mentioned I clean as I’m going along.

+1 yMy kitchen was always cluttered. Not because we were lazy and let stuff like up, but because it lacked adequate pantry and cabinet space. My wife and I just renovated it and it's amazing how much easier it is to not have it look like a disaster now. It's also a lot easier to motivate yourself to keep it organized when it's not a nearly impossible task.

For inexpensive organization ideas: we had some old VHS/DVD racks we no longer used- we now use them to organize screws and hardware in our workshop in the basement. Command hooks on the inside of cabinet doors are good for potholders/measuring cups/etc, freeing up space in drawers for other things.

Hit or miss. For the most part I live in a clean environment with a regular cleaning schedule. Daily chores are run the roomba and do the dishes/clean the kitchen. In my room it’s pretty clean; nothing on the floors. But my hamper has become a clean clothes graveyard because I haven’t had the time or energy to fold. Maybe this evening.
My roommates room is a disaster area but as long as she contains her mess I don’t mind. Our spare room has all the extra clutter items and neither of us have the energy to deal with it currently. But the doors shut and it’s out of sight. So again hit or miss depending on the day.10 Reply
+1 yI don't. I don't like clutter or knock knacks because it's harder to clean with all that stuff around. My husband calls me a minimalist, but I'm really not. I just like a clean fresh look and feel.

I hate it; but a discussion would lead to nowhere :D

10 ReplyI'm a very clean and organized person but a very depressed person and by the time I get to my room I just undress and go to bed, I see the mess of clothes start to pile up, then I get mad at myself, get more depressed, clean up and begin cycle again. There's always that horrible day or so that starts the cycle over.

I miss seeing land that isn’t built up with so many buildings crammed together. I can’t wait to be able to afford to move to a more rural area and have a classroom instead of an office.

That doesn't just apply to and urban areas have you ever been to an old farmers farm well especially if they were around during the 30s they dont throw or get rid of anything they might need it sometime but at least they stuck it back in the trees so. it was out of sight and out of the way

@peedy that is the depression era mentality where you can’t throw anything away. It rose out of gross incompetence and negligent, miss management of monetary policy by a government, which could not bear to let the market inside of itself be the most powerful economic force in the land. If the government had simply done nothing, the Great Depression would have been shorter, less painful, and very much more attention to the physical speed bumps that happened in the country. Up to that point, none of which were a worldwide catastrophe that needed the deaths of millions to figure out how to navigate.
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yDepends on the day you catch me. I'm a clean person by nature but I'm also a lazy person by nature. So I always got those two sides of me in conflict with eachother and it depends which side is winning that day. 🤣
