Why would a workplace be flip flopping my schedule around so much?

I recently started a new job at Popeyes like I mentioned. They told me to take off Saturday and Sunday which I was scheduled for. They told me to come back today, but never told me what time (which I work afternoons and evenings). I called them at 1pm to ask what time I was supposed to come in which will usually be 3 or 4. They told me I was off today to come back tomorrow at 4. This is nonsense!!! Why would they be giving a new person less hours? I told them I wanted to be full time. I'd like to know what the hell is going on

I just started as a manager in training at dominos. The manager I’m replacing cannot create a functioning schedule to save their life.


They always forget who is available on what days, schedule people for times they are literally unable to work and cause a huge problem where the schedule has to be scribbled out and re-written with pen.


So, it’s probably something like that.


Manager can’t make a schedule to save their life and needs to be replaced.


Calmly discuss it with the manager next time you see them. If they have any competence, they will at least fix your hours for next week.

My experience shopping at McDonalds is that they give new people fewer hours at fast food because they are less trained and not as adapted to the role as someone who has worked there longer, once you are fully adjusted, your hours will increase.

How many people are telling you these days and times, are they on the same page when it comes to scheduling, and are any of the supervisors getting a little w🤤rkplace nookie on the side or during business hours with people you work with? These are relevant variables that should be factored into this scheduling chaos scenario.

that may be. i once had a job where i had to do a lot of walking. i have high arches in my feet and only inserts would help, but i never got them. i would be in agonizing pain by the end of the shift that i couldn't continue. i'd almost be in tears. no one i worked with had this problem so i was looked at as a weak rich kid that had shit handed to him. that wasn't the case at all.

so if you have something medically wrong you can fix it with an adjustment hopefully. i just wanted to share my experience with you.

i've never done fast food. i mostly did merchandise replenishment which is basically warehouse, stock stuff. it's not easy. but learn to ask for help. as long as you're not taking someone elses job they'll be happy to help you on anything you need.
